Tena koutou, my name is Virginia

I have cared for a wide range of people suffering with dementia at all levels, medical illness, disabled, autism, paraplegic etc. With 20 years of working, learning and knowledge taught to me by qualified experienced leaders, the work has definitely paid off. Throughout my years I have attended health workshops, conferences, inservices to ensure I provide the expertise and ongoing knowledge towards my passion and journey of caring.

Dementia is a progressive illness affecting cognitive processes which can happen to any regent of the brain.Although there are many Symptoms they can vary from mild to severe. The person becomes forgetful, cannot say a full sentence then looses the words in conversation and to perform tasks normally. Some Whanau/ family can be faced with challenges, unanswered questions and fustration.

I wanted to create a platform for those to korero to find hope in other people with similar experiences who can help answer some of your hard to reach questions. This page is for anyone from all cultural and ethnic backgrounds.
