We were delighted to provide CPR training to such an enthusiastic bunch of people!
Many thanks also to Bernie from Kilcock Cardiac First Responders and to Catherine from Shankill & Ballybrack CFR who selflessly gave up their Saturday to assist.

Congratulations to our responders Maria and Orla for coming 3rd in the CPR Challenge at the recent Rescue Org Ireland event!

Our regular training ensures that all our volunteers can perform high quality CPR when called to a patient in cardiac arrest.

Leixlip Fire Station and Leixlip Community First Responders recently joined forces for a lively evening of collaboration, coffee, conversation and the all-important biscuits!

The skills sharing was hosted by Leixlip Fire Station. It focused on strengthening the Chain of Survival—recognising cardiac arrest, delivering prompt CPR, and ensuring an AED (automated external defibrillator) reaches a patient as quickly as possible.

With community safety at its core, the evening highlighted how teamwork between emergency services and CFR volunteers supports faster, more effective responses during life-threatening situations.

The informal event featured practical demonstrations, group discussions, and even a light-hearted in-house CFR competition, where the winner proudly walked away with a coveted packet of Jaffa Cakes!

The community of Leixlip are fortunate to have local teams working together, sharing knowledge, and strengthening Leixlip’s emergency response capability.

Thanks to everyone who took part.

Thank you so much to everyone who put their blue token into the Leixlip CFR box in Tesco Maynooth.
We were absolutely delighted to accept a cheque from the Tesco Community Fund for €659 which will really help with our equipment costs.

Celebrating 20 years of CFR groups in Ireland - great article and videos that explain what we do and how we can help you in cases of emergency

Twenty years after the idea was first mooted in a Co Wicklow village, Ireland's network of community first responders is now made up of 4,000 volunteers in more than 300 groups nationwide.

Hi everyone, just a reminder that we have been been selected for the Tesco Community Fund in Maynooth!

For the next two months, any time you are in Tesco Maynooth we’d be very grateful if you’d pop a blue token in the Leixlip Community First Responders slot. Every token matters so we would really appreciate your help. The funding will go towards maintaining our equipment.

Like so many other volunteers and community groups, our amazing network of CFR Volunteers have continued to respond during the cold weather when safe to do so! Thank you to all the amazing volunteers across the country who provide a vital response to their community. So far this week, we have seen over 160 responses by the CFR network to activations from NEOC.

We have two fantastic pieces of news for you this bright December morning!

First off - we have installed a new Public Access Defibrillator in Barnhall Shopping Centre, as a result of funding received from the National Lottery. Thanks so much to Blush Hair Consultancy for facilitating this.

Also - we have been been selected for the Tesco Community Fund!
So for the next 12 weeks, any time you are in Tesco Maynooth we’d be very grateful if you’d pop a blue token in the Leixlip Community First Responders slot. Every token matters so we would really appreciate your help. The funding will go towards maintaining our equipment.
