What does Botox do?
Botox for cosmetic reasons is mainly used to reduce wrinkles by freezing the muscles that is injected. It relaxes the muscle and pulls the wrinkle of the skin out much like a paper crease and we stretch the paper out until you don’t see any creases. In this analogy, the wrinkles smoothes out.
How long does Botox last?
Usually 3-4 months, Manufacturer label says about 3-4 months but in some instances can last 4-6 months especially for first time users.
How come I did not see a result yet?
It usually takes a 7-10 days to take full effect. Usually after 2-3 days you start seeing some result. The muscles start moving less and less. If you still see movement after 7 days, you can come in for a touch up and there will be no charge.
Who will do my Botox injections and what are their qualifications?
Your injector will be a nurse, physician assistant or a Medical doctor and have all been professionally trained and certified to do Botox and Filler injections.
Why is your Botox so cheap? Is it diluted?
All our Botox is Allergan botox. We don’t use generics like Xeomin or Dysport. It is all the purple bottle Brand name only. We are the only place that will do a result guarantee when you pay. No charge for touch ups if you didn’t get the result you wanted.
How much do you charge per unit?
We charge $165 for 20 units and will guarantee the result if it is applied to one area like the forehead, furrow (between the eyes), or crow’s feet. We can give discounts for multiple areas. Some places will charge $7, $8 a unit but they can just tell you, you need more units and you end up paying more or inject less units then the actual units sold. That’s why with us, a result guarantee only makes sense so you are guaranteed you get what you pay for.
Which area can you inject and how much?
The standard areas are forehead, furrow, and crow’s feet. We recommend up to 20 units per area we charge $165 (20 units) for one area, $285 for 2 area (40 units), $395 for3 area (60 units)
Can you get droopy eye from Botox?
Yes, it is called migration when a little bit of the Botox when injected into the furrow drips into the supercilli muscle of the eye lid and it can cause a droop for 2-3 weeks. This is a rare occurrence and manufacturer label says it can happen to 3% of the people but with enhanced injection technique we can reduce this to much less.
My forehead felt too heavy last time I got injected, how can I prevent that from happening?
Yes with forehead injections, we never inject pass the middle of the forehead, otherwise it will make you feel heavy in the forehead area.
Can you do a brow lift with Botox?
Yes, the modern brow lift technique focuses on opening up the middle of the brow and the forehead. You don’t have to inject into the eye brow area. That was old school and it can cause a droop due to migration and so we don’t recommend doing it that way but the modern brow lift way.
Can you soften lines around my lips with Botox?
The muscle around the lips is the perioral muscle and is a relatively small muscle. We don’t recommend injecting Botox around the lips because it is easy to cause the lips to be crooked and the benefit of smoothing the lines lasts only a few weeks. However, you can do it still but in very small units like 1 to 2 units around certain areas of the lips but the effect will be very short in duration.
Why didn’t my Botox last as long this time?
There could be many reasons why Botox may not last as long as you would usually expect. First it should only last 3-4 months but if it is lasting much shorter, it could be not enough was injected, or the Botox injected was not kept in a cold temperature and some efficacy wore off. It could also be that Botox after it is mixed with water should not be unused for too long. It should all be used within 3-4 days. Any product left longer than a week is usually not as strong. We welcome anyone to let us know if they felt their Botox didn’t last as long. We will make sure the quality assurance is in place so you can get the result and duration you like.
What happens if I get a droopy eye?
If you get a droopy eye, don’t panic. It will go away in 2-3 weeks. In addition you can buy an eye drop called Naphcon A at your local pharmacy store and use it 2 to 3 times a day and it will reduce the droopy eye temporary when it is applied and make the eye droop go away faster.
What can I do when my eye brows are uneven or look too raised on one side?
This is simple to adjust. We can inject a few units into the eye brow area that is raised to even it out.
Does Botox hurt?
Yes but a little. We use ice packs to cool you before injection. We use very fine needle so it doesn’t hurt as much.
Is there anyone that can not use Botox?
Yes, people with muscle weakness diseases and pregnant and nursing mothers.
Can Botox relieve my grinding teeth?
Yes just 25 units on each side of the Masseter area, side of the jawls will reduce the grinding and can be don’t every 5 to 6 months.
Can Botox used to slim my face?
Yes, it is popular among young Asian women to inject in the masseter area to slim their face. Usually needs at least 20 units on each side. It can go as high as 30 units on each side.
I can’t move my muscle from the Botox injection but why do I still see a wrinkle?
So wrinkles are so deep, it is almost like a scar. Deep groove wrinkles can be benefited with using a filler. We don’t recommend using fillers for forehead or crow’s feet areas.
