Visiting our new granddaughter Isla.

My husband never got the chance to be a girl dad. I can see all of his gentleness, his softness as he is caring for her.

In life, many times we will find that we are given a choice.

We can focus on everything that is wrong

We can focus on all the ways we feel powerless

Or…

We can open ourselves to everything that is possible

Everything that is right

It is absolutely a choice.

Today, I can’t go for even a short let alone long walks the way I love.

Today, I’m still limping around.

That could have been my focus

But…

Today, I can still get out of the house and into nature

Today, I can get some cardio in

Today, I can visit the woods, the Hawk and find my place of peace

That is and was my choice

We all heal in the precisely right time for us.

Last Wednesday I went in the orthopedic surgeons office, still unable to bear full weight, limping, and 8 weeks of atrophy.

I was told based on current imaging it was going to take 6-8 months to completely heal my ankle.

I took a deep breath and remembered we all heal in precisely the right time.

That being said, there is always a wisdom that can be found in what ever it that “is “.

Can I open my heart to receive this wisdom?

Can I let go of judgment of what could be, should be so that I can see what is?

Can I settle the racing mind, for there is no more important place to be, no more important thing to do than to receive the wisdom of what is?

There is a gift.

If we can allow it in, the gift of wisdom of what is.

It reassures us that everything is precisely as it must be.

It says stay here, there is so much available for you.

It says just Trust.

Trust that there is no good, there is no bad, there’s what is.

Trust that there is no need to rush, all things happen in perfect time.

Trust the wisdom of whatever it is, it the gift.

2. I missed my kids hand made ornaments from when they were little.
3. My son made the one that says “Ho ho ho”.

This was our Thanksgiving activity, finally getting around to stringing them.

Moments of impact, creating memories, that is what it’s about.

Fail well. In my head she is so much more…

Getting her from there to here, takes a lot.

At moments it’s as if there’s a current from a place where she exists that moves through my hand onto the paper.

Others, it’s as if I can’t fully see her, like she is in a distant fog.

If you are an artist you might be familiar with the feeling.

If you aren’t an artist you might be familiar with the feeling.

There will always be times when things come through crystal clear.

Then, there is the pause when things are unclear.

If we can be patient, they begin to develop, the clarity of things comes in.

If not, what we produce, the outcome is forced.

As I honor this time of my own healing, play, light heartedness has become a big focus.

Creativity is absolutely light hearted for me.

I can play

I can break free from expectations

I can go beyond the normal

There is no wrong as long as I am receiving.

So, I sit here with my half flow, half forced Winter Mother because “finishing things is what we are supposed to do”, and I laugh at myself.

I become soft with myself.

I remember that there was no need to rush.

I remember to play.

Yesterday, I began my 1st day of 31.

31 days of 31 minutes of pencil drawing.

I decided to make this commitment to myself back in the beginning May.

While I won’t bore all of you by posting most of them, some, if not many will be really rough, I share this as an invitation to stay committed to you.

We make promises to ourselves all the time.

They are the little whispers that come across our hearts.

As soon as we acknowledge them,

As soon as we tell ourselves they are valid and whether spoken or unspoken, once we whisper back yes…

A promise to ourselves has been made.

Keep it.

Don’t break your own heart.

Keep it.

If you would keep a promise to another, keep it to you.

Keep it.

Because the only way we can ever truly learn to love, TRUST, ourselves is when we find value in the promises we make to us and keep them.

What is your relationship to the water around you ?

Did you know about California water rights , the agreements, ownership?

Did you know, depending on the specifics of the city, ex., 80 million gallons of water go into the ocean every day via the sewer system?

Did you know that 80% of the world’s sewage is dumped into the ocean?

I’m not here to tell you what you should do or my stance.

What I hope to do is invite the inquiry.

Start the asking of questions.

Water can be a hot topic in certain arenas.

I hope to invite you to not accept surface level answers, to dig a little deeper.

As we examine this Season of Water and our relationship to it, within and without.

It beckons us to consider our own relationship with water around us.

Gain knowledge of water around us.

Learn more about our part, how we feel, where we stand with what is happening to and with the water, fresh bodies, salt bodies.

If you know me at all you would know how well I have educated and continue to educate myself on Earth subjects.

I am not here to tell anyone what or how to think, believe or do.

I am only saying what don’t you know and shouldn’t you know?

Fall, Autumn isn’t just a season of the year it is also a season of life.

Us, who are in our Autumn…

We have been the Spring Chickens, the young Maidens

We have been the Mother, in the heat, of our Fiery days, filled with passion, pleasure, and play

Settling in to our Autumn

It’s not giving up the Season of the Maiden or the Season of the Mother

Settling into our Autumn is remembering to stay with the lightheartedness of the Maiden

It’s the skillful tending to, the kindling of and caring for passions of the flames

She who is in her Autumn, is she who is standing in the wisdom and the power of them all.

Blessings to be in the Autumn of this existence.

Summer Pluot Fire Cider is done and tastes A-mazing! We love the fiery spices of a traditional 🔥 cider but this experimental twist came out incredible and is totally teen boy approved!!! Though in all honesty our family is a 🔥cider family. 🍑

This feels so good. A healer’s journey isn’t easy.

I have given countless hours away for Reiki, massage, sound healings to moms needing respite, to elderly needing connection, to victims of DV, to those needing to heal from trauma, loss of love one, child…

I have tried to walk away from this, ~several times.

At times I have reflected that I could make “real” money in a career where I used at least some of my education.

But…

My soul’s path requires this.

It is not meant to be easy, it’s definitely not filled with monetary riches.

And every now and then I get an email such as this. It is all it takes to fill my cup, replenish my soul and is reward enough for my heart.

Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your healing journey.

Friday my long time friend (27 yrs) and I spent the day on the lake paddling. Yesterday we spent the day so incredible! Nice reset for the mind and soul.

So Cal trip with the family. Even got a couple of these guys on an “easy” hike. So grateful for trips like this. Kids grow up so fast and it’s not long before they’re out living in the world.

Happy Father’s Day to all of those incredible dads out there! Especially to this dad in our family, the one who always showing up in the most important ways, like calling his kids to say he loves them, telling them stories that they will tell their children and most importantly showing them that being a “good, strong, real” a man is to love with your whole heart. We are so grateful for you!

Some days it seems as if up keep and harvesting is all I do. How lucky am I? Just what exactly do I have? 11 rose varieties, several jasmine, 5 gardenias, countless lavender, rosemary, lemon balm, chamomile, oregano, basil, catnip, there’s more I know lol, full veggie garden with tomatoes, peppers, squash, 25 +trees fruit bearing/medicinal offerings, native species that pop up as the earth takes its self back from progress… Definitely a labor of 💕✨🦋 What keeps you grounded, what are you growing?
