WHAT ARE YOU STRUGGLING WITH? Hi, I’m Dr. Badruddoja! I usually don’t share what’s amazing about me because I grew up in a North American country—the United States—with a rigid gendered cultural ethos where girls are taught to not self-aggrandize. But here it goes... Did you know that I have a Ph.D. and a M.B.A. from R1 institutions; I am a tenured full Professor and the Chair of the Sociology Department at Manhattan College in New York; I am Shamanic, Akashic, and Tarot Counselor; I am a Family Constellation Therapist; and I have over 24 peer-reviewed publications? My latest research focuses on reproductive trauma and my upcoming peer-reviewed publication in Hypatia: A Journal of Feminist Philosophy (Cambridge University Press) is entitled “Bones of the Womb: Healing Algorithms of Reproductive Trauma…”. In this scientific research about how to “heal” reproductive trauma, I implicate my personal vulnerability by sharing that I have been pregnant 4 times with 1 live birth, a daughter who is now 19. My woundedness—womb trauma or “bones of the womb”—led me to ask haunting research questions: What do we do during life’s dark times? How do we survive amid cavernous terror and soul-ripping trauma? From the incomprehensible pain of walking through the loss of three of my children in utero, I serve as a mirror to folx who sit in loss of any kind (from losing your favorite teddy bear as a child to sexual violence). In my inherited family trauma liberation coaching practice, together, we will respond to what manages to live (survive and thrive) in the ruinous and damaged landscape of woundedness and trauma, and we will piece back together the wandering fragments of our Soul from shattering loss, pain, and suffering. Using psychospiritual and systemic therapeutic modalities--Family Constellation, the Akashic Records, Shamanic Journeying, and Tarot--we will explore the strange and unexpected corners of woundedness and trauma, and I will help you stoke a reimagination of our actions in life by embodying grief as a pathway to clarity and living your life fully, orgasmically. And so, I gather the “bones” of my babies and I stitch them together to transmogrify my losses. I offer myself to you with painful urgency fueled by a ferocious and unwavering commitment to liberating from woundedness. Here is what I have learned from my irreparable heartbreak: First, the purpose of the Light is to illuminate the Dark. My grief gifted me the time to embrace and integrate my Shadows and learn to live my live fully. Second, the Divine Spirit lives in the now, and not in our past or future. Our present is our only connection to the Divine. Third, the embrace of our vulnerabilities can be transgressive, radical, and healing as a mode of being (versus the “western” psychotherapeutic tradition of “overcoming”) to stake a claim, sit with, and affirm.
