Hi, I’m Julie!

I am a mom and a wife who wants the best for herself and her family, for now and in the future.
I help women and their families simplify nutrition and remove the noise and the confusion around health. I’m a certified nutritional therapy practitioner, focused on simplifying nutrition for women and their families. My own journey began with my family's needs in mind but soon came to realize I wasn’t as “healthy” as I once thought. Quickly realizing the “common” but definitely not normal symptoms of feeling bloated and gassy after meals, waking in the middle of the night to p*e wasn’t because I drank too much water before I went to bed, and my need to always be snacking and skipping meals wasn’t working for my body and in fact was leading to my irritability and anxiety. Not having enough time wasn’t the problem. The way I was caring for my body or lack of caring for it was leading to me not being the best mom, wife, and friend.

Hear me out…
Water is key to so much good in our body but there can be too much of a good thing, even when it comes to water.

If you are constantly needing to p*e this could be a telling sign your body is in fact not absorbing the water you are drinking and it’s flushing straight through your body. Most likely taking all the good nutrients you are eating with it! Flushing it all away rather than having time to be absorbed into your body.

Then when should we drink our water???
When eating…sip those fluids
Away from eating…consume your water but make sure you are consuming water plus minerals and nutrients such as electrolytes, bone broth, aloe juice, coconut water, or even just a pinch of sea salt.

Water is vital to our bodies’ daily processes and overall health and wellness. Making it count is key to nourishing your body!

Save this‼️ if you are frustrated with how to feed your family, even you, more nutrient dense snacks and meals.

I’ve been providing simple and healthy snacks and meals for my family for over 6+ years and helping clients nourish their bodies and I can tell you with absolute certainty that if you’re feeling frustrated with how to get more nutrient dense foods into your everyday life you need to focus on these 3 ways.

Start focusing on how you can improve your meals rather than what you need to eliminate. Naturally, the more nourishing items will start to push out the less nourishing foods over time.

Forget all the rules.
Stop the counting, tracking, and worrying about the latest fad.

There is so much more to food than calories, carbs and fats and the latest fad diets.

Real food ingredients are our focus.

We have been trying so hard to make things “easier”, quick fixes, easy solutions but somewhere along the way we made food, health and nourishing our bodies harder!

We have forgotten what real food looks like. So much so we don’t recognize it when we see it. Food labels overwhelm us…as they should because most don’t include real food ingredients.

You want to see a change in your health…start with understanding your food!
Get back to basic, simple, real food!
This is where and when you will see the greatest change in your health.

If you are looking for a daily non-negotiable with the greatest impact on your health today, check out slide #4.

The big question is do you have daily non-negotiables? Better yet before we go any further, do you know what non-negotiables are?

A non-negotiable is a commitment to yourself that you will not break.

Sometimes they are about relationships, health or even work. Oftentimes we already have non-negotiables built into our everyday lives and we don’t even realize it.

Recently I was working with a client who has already made some great improvements to her health but is still struggling with a few of her goals. We talked about non-negotiables, I shared my personal ones and why I chose them.

⭐️ Hydration
⭐️ Walking
⭐️ Protein Breakfast
⭐️ Fresh Air
⭐️ Nourishing Meals

At the end of our session I challenged her to work on selecting her own daily non-negotiables by the end of the week. Then she and I can work to create a plan to make these non-negotiable’s work in her daily life. I encouraged her to think about what actions/activities make her feel her best…then incorporate them into her non-negotiables.

These don’t need to be lofty, unrealistic goals…but achievable and beneficial to the end goals and needs. Ultimately feeling her absolute best.

My daily 5 were chosen because they all bring joy, strength and focus to my life. Some days are harder than others to achieve them and some days I get off track but I know these 5 non-negotiables and so I don’t have to start over trying to figure out what helps center me… knowing them is half the battle and makes it very easy to get back on track.

Now after seeing my non-negotiables, do you already have daily non-negotiables that you didn’t realize you had?

When was the last time you took a real rest day?
When was the last time you listened to your body?

Newsflash!!
Your body is talking to you and it needs you to listen.

Now!! Not when you are so exhausted you can’t move anymore.
NOW!

Is this you? Not listening to your body?
This use to be me!!🙋🏻‍♀️ I am a mom, wife, friend and a business owner…I hear you AND some days I still struggle with prioritizing my care over others.

Rest isn’t selfish or a sign of weakness or failure. It’s the key to true healing.

Thankfully I’ve learned to listen to my body talking to me. Warning me it needs a break, it needs sleep, it needs self-care, it needs fresh air.

Yesterday I did this for me, for my body and for my family. Yes, by resting I help my family in so many ways!

Now I’m not full on sick and wiped out for a busy weekend ahead
My mood was much improved
I was able to function and support those who needed me
And today I’m back to 💯%

This habit was a hard one for me to create. It didn’t happen overnight but something I built on over time.

Remember like every habit you create…start simple. Little changes can grow into lasting habits.

Start NOW! Today, go to bed 5 minutes earlier.
Read the book rather than watch the show before falling asleep.
Then tomorrow or maybe next week build off of this…go to bed 10 minutes earlier.

JUST START! It’s never too late.

I wish someone would have explained this to me many years ago sitting in my son’s doctor's appointment, desperately wanting them to tell me what to do next. I wanted to fix the problem and NOW!!

At the time I thought the “fix” was about following the rules, removing the gluten and ultimately fixing things so our family could return to “normal”.

BUT it really wasn’t about any of the rules…the removal of gluten or the food intolerances…

What I needed was someone…someone by my side saying “let’s make a plan for YOU and your family!”

Our family was at a breaking point…you don’t have to wait for this to start making real health a priority.

Let me reintroduce myself!

I’m Julie, and I’m a Nutritional Therapy Practitioner who simplifies nutrition and all things health for those who are confused, frustrated and intimidated by beginning or continuing their own health journey.

Nutrition can be fun and simple! Whole Nutrition Simplified is about simplifying all aspects of nutrition, so you don’t have to!

Like many, I am here because of my family and my own health struggles.
Our struggles… restless sleep, inability to focus, low energy, hangry, constantly hungry and bloating after meals, night sweats, gas after meals…to name a few!
I knew these symptoms were common BUT came to realize definitely were not normal and we didn’t have to settle!

After searching and wanting answers for a better plan…we found answers but received no support and direction as to how to implement these changes into our lifestyle. It took lots of trial and error but we got there.

Which led me to creating NUTRITION SIMPLIFIED
Removing the confusion and frustration while providing direction, support and guidance… allowing you to achieve the best version of yourself through lasting lifestyle habits to live your best life!
I want a simpler path for YOU!

I believe achieving the best version of you starts SIMPLE...
Food is your Fuel…what you put in is what you get out…we have to understand our food!
Balanced Lifestyle…our lifestyle habits play an important part in how we feel. Restriction is not the answer…no one-size fits all programming, pills, shakes, etc. It's about meeting you and your body where it's at and developing a plan that works for you. Creating balance through quality real foods while having fun and enjoyable life!

Okay, I get it, water can get BORING…
BUT wait it doesn’t have to be and it doesn’t mean you can’t drink anything else…

A few of my favorite ways to spice up daily water intake!💦(See ⬆️PLUS more⤵️!)

This time of year is a great time to pick all those herbs that will die for the winter, wash and put into ice cube trays. Then you can enjoy it in your water all year long! 🧊

Other natural alternatives which are super hydrating while supporting digestion and mineral absorption…
Coconut Water, Aloe Vera Juice…I love adding mint leaves and cucumber to both of these AND I also use them when making adrenal cocktails…

There are some great alternative electrolyte products on the market which I fully back and recommend to my clients…key is read those labels!

Sometimes consuming water is more of a mental thing…
Which means creating changes or changing the vessel in which you are consuming your water…

Measure out all the water you need to drink for the day so you can keep on track..
Use a straw…some tend to consume more this way
Water Temperature…warm, cold, hot
Sparkling water…(watch labels🕵️‍♀️)
Style of cup…wine glass, by a fun new insulated travel mug

Don’t give up on water and remember to keep things fun!

Where to start? You want to make healthy living a priority for YOU and your family BUT where the heck do I begin??

I hear this ALL THE TIME!

Healthy living does not have to be this BIG hard thing that causes you more pain…

Let’s start with SIMPLE and BASIC.
Lasting habit change comes from simple, easy to implement steps for real life living.

Here is where I want you to begin⤵️

Hydration
Food
Sleep
Movement

YES it is that easy!

You might even say…”I do these already!” But I want you to take a deeper look at these 4 foundations…

A few questions to think about…

How much water are you actually consuming each day?
Are you eating a balanced meal when you first start your day?
How much quality sleep are you getting each night?
Yes, you are exercising…HIIT, CrossFit, Running, etc HARD 4+ days a week…BUT my question to you…is that the movement your body is needing?

Now that I have you thinking…
Start taking action with these basic tips I have given you and start noticing the changes…
Some changes will come right away others will take time…BUT it will come if you start prioritizing these tips and your health!

I’ve been there! Easily can slip back into this pattern…not on purpose but with a hectic schedule, poor planning and not prioritizing YOU…it can happen!

It’s okay… the good news is you can bring balance back into your meals and life with simple changes…

➡️EAT EVERY MEAL…
Let’s stop skipping meals.
Remember your body is a machine…we are constantly asking it to perform for us…

Let’s start thinking about how you are fueling it…

Give it low quality fuel…you are going to get low quality performance! 😥

➡️CHOOSE REAL FOOD - It’s that simple
Stay away from the processed imitation foods…
REAL is BEST!

The way in which foods are processed is where the quality and nutritional values are lost…
Always when in doubt READ the INGREDIENTS…they tell the story! There is more to food than calories and fat!

➡️BUILD BALANCED MEALS: Protein + Fat + Carb
Build each and every snack and meal with a BALANCE = Quality Protein + Healthy Fats + Carbohydrates

Balanced meals will bring balance to your life…
Mood
Energy
Memory…
