We’ve always made an effort to use Luca’s interests as learning tools. He loves math, graphs and really anything to do with numbers/measurement. After a family argument he wrote an apology and created his own scale of importance. I told him this can always change based on the situation, but I love that he did this on his own as it helped him work his way through the argument and helped him process his feelings and why others feelings were hurt. In addition, it helped all of us to understand his viewpoint as well.

Spelling bee round 1 today! He’s been studying like crazy. He just called to let me know he’s still in, with 6 other kids. It will continue tomorrow 🤞. This is just round 1, and the winner will go to the school spelling bee 🐝.

He took a break from homework and decided to write his name in hieroglyphics. There is always something interesting stirring around in his brain.

Luca ran a great 5k today! I couldn’t be there as I had to be with my Dad in the hospital. I’m proud of this not so little guy. His favorite part was someone standing with a poster that said this next hill is a monster 👹. Luca thought that was pretty funny! This is the first of many races this fall so stay tuned.
