The best way to reduce calories (and lose weight) is NOT to eat PROTEIN…

It’s vegetables!! 🥕 🍆🥒🥕🌶️🧅🫑🍅🥗

Vegetables are the lowest calorie dense foods on the planet. A pound of vegetables on average is only 100 calories!!

Therefore if you fill up on vegetables, you’ll significantly reduce your overall calorie intake making it extremely easy to lose weight. Not only that but you’ll be getting an extremely high dose of nutrients to protect your health!

“Show me an overweight person. And I’ll show you someone who is unwilling to eat enough raw salad and steamed vegetables.” - Joel Fuhrman

👆🏻GOOD REMINDER if you made health your 2024 goal!

When it comes to health, there is no end date...

It’s a life long commitment to eating healthy and exercising regularly.

If that’s not your mindset going into your health and fitness journey, your results wont last.

So make sure whatever you do is sustainable long-term otherwise you’ll stay stuck in the yo-yo dieting cycle!

I was afraid I would have trouble getting pregnant…

You may be thinking, “Why? You’re so healthy!” And yes that’s true, but I wasn’t always this way…

Some of you know my story of how growing up I had a terrible diet. But what you might not know is when I went on a High Protein, Low Carb diet to lose weight in 2014, I lost my period…for a year!!! For me missing a period wasn’t all that abnormal. As a collegiate athlete it’s not that uncommon to have irregular periods. So I kept thinking it would come back the next month, and so I delayed going to the OBGYN. But at that point I knew I had to. So I went in and I was informally diagnosed with PCOS and was told I needed to go on birth control otherwise I could get ovarian cancer. Once I heard “cancer” I was like yeah ok let’s do that! So I ended up getting an IUD put in.

Well about 7 months later after still struggling with losing weight, I stumbled upon a Whole Foods Plant Based Diet. I decided to make some changes, and immediately I started to see results. I was so intrigued that I kept studying the benefits of a Plant Based diet. I learned a lot from Dr. John McDougall at the time and in May of 2016, I fully bought in!

So when it came time to take my IUD out 4 years later, I thought surely I’ll get my period back quickly. Well, to my surprise I didn’t. It took nearly a year, but then thankfully I never missed a month after that!

Fast forward another year when I was a few months out from getting married, I decided to get another IUD in. What was different is this time is I actually got my period every month, which was good. But with my past, I was still afraid that I might not be fertile and being 32, I thought wouldn’t help either, and so I didn’t really want to wait any longer. So the beginning of September 2023, we got my IUD taken out but was told we should wait at least a month before we try to reduce our risk of a miscarriage. And so we did. We were careful and I got my period in mid-end September. Well the following month because I was fearful that it would take a while, I felt like we could start trying. And so we did…
