Meet The Therapist:

I’m James, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker and the founder of Resurgo Psychotherapy.

I work primarily with men who are navigating uncertainty, low self-esteem, relationship difficulty, addiction, and big life transitions. My approach is integrative — drawing from humanistic, existential, psychodynamic, cognitive, and behavioral frameworks — but at its core, it’s about actually understanding you, not fixing you or forcing you into a box.

Before private practice, I worked in inpatient settings, intensive outpatient programs, and substance use treatment, leading both individual and group work. I also come from a background in athletic training and exercise science, which shapes how I think about the mind–body connection, discipline, recovery, and resilience.

Outside the therapy room, you’ll find me working out, training Brazilian jiu jitsu, reading, writing, or gaming — all different ways of staying curious, grounded, and human.

Resurgo comes from Post Fata Resurgo — “After death, I rise again.”
Because every ending is an opportunity for a new beginning.
