I’m having a summer salad at my local Subway for Sunday Lunch. Salad, coffee and finishing a book I’ve been waiting to read for too long.

Firstly, Thank You all for my birthday wishes.
I was absolutely delighted that Fiona Cavendish drove all the way up to surprise me!
A totally unexpected big squishy cuddle from your daughter has to be the best birthday present ever.

Secondly ... although I don't generally work 'school holidays', I thought I'd post this last short 'Coffee Break Coaching Session' I prepped for anyone who is going through exams when term re-starts.
Things go a bit behind with bank holidays but this session is about preparing to walk into the exam hall.
I hope this helps someone feel Calm Relaxed Confident as they settle to their exam papers.
I'm home and around if anyone needs to ask anything or needs to run through my Relaxation Training
Actually I think I'll record that and put it up for people to download.
Let me know if that would be useful, I use it to calm down clients who have forgotten HOW to "Relax" before we start their hypnotherapy session,

How to Overcome Exam Anxiety.
Week 6 Day 4: How To Feel Primed & READY…
**Do What This Rock Star Does!

I heard a story about a famous musician, I can’t recall who, exactly,
I think he pays guitar and sings, but this is a story from years ago…
The story was about how people feel the physical sensations of anxiety:
‘Butterflies’ or that sensation of being nauseous,
They are a bit jittery,
With some tension in their muscles and
All they can think about, focus on, is the thing they have to do…
They can’t think about anything else….
They are ‘on edge’…
And they call that ‘Anxiety’…
… AND THIS MUSICIAN SAID,
“Yes.. and when I feel all that,
my blood is pumping and
I have adrenaline and
I’m feeling excited, and focussed..
Then I KNOW …
I am ready to go out and give the best performance of my life.. “

It is the same brain chemicals!
It is just a shift of perspective.
A simple thought.
Your brain has got your body Ready To Do This Thing… Now.
Feel Ready.,. Feel that Confidence.
Feel Primed and Ready as you go into your exam!

Week6 Day 3 How To Calm Exam Anxiety

IMPORTANT
Exam Anxiety?
Even if you don’t go through all my other
fabulous easy techniques for quick wins to
Calm Anxiety during your exam season,
Use This One:
That whingey, whiney voice in your head?
The one that LIES To You about how
‘rubbish you are’ and how
‘you don’t know enough’, and how
‘you’ll never amount to anything’?
It’s Your Own Voice.
If someone spoke to your best friend like that,
wouldn’t your brain automatically defend your friend
and come up with loads of Reasons
Why the comments are wrong?
And, wouldn’t your brain also automatically provide Evidence
and Examples of why the comments are so incredibly wrong?
Of course it would…
It’s a human brain. That is how it operates.
It hears something and to make sense of it, it goes and gets
A whole load of Evidence to prove itself right.
The easiest WIN you will ever have, is to train your own brain
To look for the Evidence of the GOOD things you have done…(instead of the bad)
So,
Listen out for your critical inner voice,
Challenge it and come up with all the reasons why it is Wrong.
Simply say to it “That’s not True”
You have done loads of great things –
You can read this, you can use your phone,
you have actually been entered into an exam….
So you are already winning at life!

Each time your own inner voice criticises you
Say “That’s not True, is it?” and let your brain
Wander off and look at all the reasons you are great, instead.
