Since opening in 2007, the David S. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center at Monmouth Medical Center has maintained its pioneering distinction as the first hospital in central and southern New Jersey dedicated to the specialty of neuro-oncology, the branch of medical science focused on brain tumors and other tumors of
the central nervous system (CNS). This state-of-the-art center provides a full spectrum of comprehensive services to treat benign and malignant tumors originating in the brain and spinal cord — the major parts of the CNS — as well as neurological complications of cancer that has spread to other regions of the body. Zocchi Brain Tumor Center is led by Sumul Raval, M.D., a board-certified neurologist who is among only 200 physicians in the United States fellowship trained in the field of neuro-oncology.
