Before the year ends…help keep the dance going 💛

As we count down the final days of 2025, one thing is clear: your support has helped thousands of seniors and people living with Parkinson’s move, connect, and thrive.

DWP’s program has touched the lives of dancers who join us online, in-person and in hybrid and congregate settings across the country and even around the world. Their words say it better than we ever could — and remind us why this work matters so deeply: https://vimeo.com/1147817185?fl=tl&fe=ec

Before December 31, please consider a year-end gift to help us finish strong. Your donation keeps our classes free, welcoming, and full of joy as we step into 2026.

✨ All gifts made before midnight on Dec 31 receive a 2025 tax receipt.

Thank you for believing in the power of dance and community. Click here to donate: https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/dancing-with-parkinsons-inc/campaign/holiday-giving-2025/

Getting Footloose in Ottawa!

Our amazing instructors, Kathleen, Nancy and Elysse, put together an incredible routine to the classic “Footloose,” and the Ottawa class performed it with absolute showmanship! The energy, the smiles, the teamwork — we love everything about this crew dancing together.

As twinkle lights go up and the season is celebrated in so many beautiful ways, our hearts at Dancing with Parkinson’s are truly full. 💖

Before you press play on this special holiday message from our Founder & CEO,Sarah Robichaud, we want to pause and honour what we created together in 2025...

What moved us most wasn’t just the dancing — it was how you showed up for one another. Every milestone. Every hello. Every day. Through 40+ free weekly classes, national expansion, and intergenerational hybrid workshops, our DWP family lifted each other up with love all year long.

To our dancers, donors, volunteers, staff, partners, and Board — thank you. You’ve helped create a space where everyone is welcome, differences are celebrated, friendships flourish, and joy is shared across cultures and time zones.

As the holidays begin, we’re still here — with the Daily Dance Connect continuing right through December and into the new year. Because joy doesn’t take a day off, and neither does our community.

From our hearts to yours — Happy Holidays, in all the ways you celebrate. Thank you for dancing through life with us. 💝

Can You Help Make Our Classes Even More Magical? 💖

As we prepare to launch our new Vancouver and Penticton dance classes in January, we are looking for caring volunteers to help bring these programs to life.

Volunteers play a vital role in creating a welcoming, safe, and supportive space where dancers can feel comfortable to move and express themselves. This is meaningful, heart-led work — an opportunity to give back to a beautiful community through art, connection, and self-expression.

Join us and be part of something that truly makes a difference in the lives of others! To learn more about becoming a Dance Class Assistant, visit: https://www.dancingwithparkinsons.com/dance-class-assistants

📣 DWP is officially coast-to-coast! 🩵

Our recent time spent in British Columbia training instructors and meeting dancers in the Okanagan Valley and Vancouver was full of energy and heart!

In partnership with our great friend, David Leventhal from Dance for PD ®, and the team from the for PD Network Canada, we trained a new cohort of teaching artists in the research-backed Dance for PD® method. Watching this group embrace the work with such care and enthusiasm was truly inspiring.

Some of the most meaningful moments? Finally dancing in person with members of our Daily Dance Connect family who have championed DWP from across the country, and who have been instrumental in helping to make this dream a reality. The joy of moving together really is something special — every single time.

THANK YOU to our partners, instructors, and community members across BC for welcoming us so warmly. Stay tuned for news about regular weekly classes launching very soon in Penticton and Vancouver!

Until then, we’re carrying the glow of new friendships, shared laughter (and a few happy tears), and a beautiful reminder that connection moves us — everywhere we go ✨

✨ From living rooms to community centres, Dancing with Parkinson’s meets people where they are...

In BC, Malcolm joined the Daily Dance Connect while navigating MSA-P, a rare form of Parkinson’s. Each morning he and his wife, Charmaine, log in to dance together. And, when we hosted our inaugural community class in Vancouver in November, they and their kids drove 2.5 hours to join us in-person!

As Malcolm says, “DWP gives me a sense of belonging. This is a judgment-free space that makes me feel like part of the family.”

https://vimeo.com/1145695615?fl=ip&fe=ec

Stories like theirs are the heartbeat of our mission. The Daily Dance Connect is more than an online class — it is a lifeline of routine, resilience, and hope. As we continue to expand, we are reminded that distance doesn’t have to create disconnection.

This holiday season, help us keep everyone dancing, no matter where they are. 🎁 Click here to be part of sharing the joy and benefits of dance far and wide! https://www.canadahelps.org/en/charities/dancing-with-parkinsons-inc/campaign/holiday-giving-2025
