Urinary tract infections are one of the most common bacterial infections, especially among women. While usually involving the bladder, they can escalate into serious kidney infections when other risk factors are present. Symptoms like burning urination, frequent urges, or cloudy urine are warning signs — but for older adults, confusion may be the first clue something’s wrong.

💡 Hajar I. Ayoub, MD, a urologist at UT Physicians, shares prevention tips to help you stay UTI-free:
✔️ Stay hydrated.
✔️ Don’t hold in urine.
✔️ Consider cranberry pills (not juice!) and D-mannose.
✔️ Postmenopausal? Vaginal estrogen can help.
✔️ Avoid constipation.

If UTIs keep coming back, it might be time to visit your health care provider.

In the wake of recent heartbreaking events in Central Texas, we know many are looking for signs of care, healing, and community. 💙

Our CHOSeN program, which supports youth with complex, chronic conditions, recently hosted a back-to-school event focused on just that — lifting up children and families with compassion and connection.

Participants received free backpacks filled with school supplies, enjoyed fun games, won prizes, and shared laughter over a warm meal. These moments of joy are a reminder of the strength found in community.
