As we continue to recognize 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐦 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐜𝐞 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡, we’re proud to highlight the many ways our staff show up every day to support children and youth with autism across our programs. Our approach is rooted in compassion, clinical excellence, and a deep commitment to meeting each young person where they are.

Across our programs, staff partner closely with families, caregivers, and communities to provide individualized, trauma-informed care that reflects the unique strengths and needs of each child. Whether supporting youth in their homes, in community-based settings, or through residential treatment, our goal remains the same: to create safe, supportive environments where young people can build skills, strengthen relationships, and thrive.

We’re proud to be one of just 15 organizations selected for Community Project Funding secured by . Her commitment to our mission helps direct critical resources to the young people and families we serve.

We also extend our deep gratitude to Barbara Lee , who initiated this request during her time in Congress and has long championed investments in our community.

This funding will support the rehabilitation of a commercial kitchen and cafeteria on our Oakland campus—laying the foundation for Café Vida, a social enterprise café. Through this investment, we will create hands-on job training and paid work opportunities for non-minor dependent and permanent supportive housing tenants, helping build pathways to independence.

Last week, our agency proudly joined the California Alliance of Child and Family Services for Advocacy in Action in Sacramento—standing alongside advocates, providers, and community leaders to help move critical mental health policy forward for the children, youth, and families we serve.

As part of this statewide advocacy day, our Vice President of Government Affairs, Dr. .teresachapa , met with legislative offices including Senator Akilah Weber Pierson, Assemblymember , and Senator Jesse Arreguín, to elevate key priorities—supporting bills like AB 1579 to expand services for foster youth in crisis and AB 1989 to address out-of-state background check delays.

The Advocacy in Action Conference also created space for advocates across the state to engage—both in person and virtually—ensuring more voices could be part of advancing policies that strengthen our communities.

Thank you to the Alliance of Child and Family Services for your leadership and partnership, and to the many advocates, providers, and community members who continue to show up and move this work forward.

For Jenay, growth means learning how to better support the people she serves.

She works closely with youth and families to help coordinate care and build stability. Through our Degree Assistance Program, she is continuing her education while working toward Spanish fluency—strengthening her ability to connect with families in a region where many residents are Spanish-speaking.

We’re deeply grateful to celebrate a milestone in youth .
Fred Finch broke ground on a first-of-its-kind Crisis Residential Treatment Program for youth impacted by autism and complex behavioral health challenges.

Developed in partnership with Kaiser Permanente Northern California, the program will provide short-term, therapeutic crisis stabilization — giving families an alternative to emergency departments and long-term hospitalization.

As our CEO Tom Alexander shared:
