Let’s talk about something many women were never told about birth control.
Your gut is like a garden, full of beneficial bacteria that help regulate digestion, immune function, and hormone balance.
But synthetic hormones in birth control don’t just impact ovulation. They can also disrupt the balance of bacteria in your gut, sometimes wiping out beneficial strains that your body depends on for good health.
When that balance shifts, your microbiome loses an important part of its foundation, and when that foundation is weakened, other problems can develop.
This is Part 1 of my 3-part series explaining how birth control can impact gut health.
Come back for Part 2 to learn what happens when beneficial bacteria disappear and how that can lead to something called leaky gut, which may trigger symptoms like bloating, fatigue, skin issues, and food sensitivities.
If you’ve ever experienced gut changes, digestive issues, or unexplained symptoms and wondered why, you’re not alone.
Follow along so you don't miss the rest of the series!
