So excited for our very own movers and shakers Yesterday & Today and Rockville Blues Band making their debut at C-Boy's in Austin this Saturday at 10pm! They have supported MMMF for years and played many of our benefit shows - now it's time to support them! Three generations of old school South Austin crazy talent in one room - this one is not to miss! Cid Sanchez , Adam Johnson, Jack Montesinos, Nico Leophonte, Chris Cebrian and Hudson Tartack!

THIS SATURDAY, NOV. 1ST @ 1OPM C-Boy's Heart & Soul in Austin!
After many years going by the name The Beatle Boys - a name given to them for what originally was a one-off project for a Beatles tribute back in 2018 for the Music Moves Mountains Foundation - the band is now moving forward as 'Yesterday & Today' to reflect where they are now. They will debut at Austin's legendary C-Boy's Heart & Soul on Saturday, November 1st with a whole new set of 50s/60s roots rock n roll and a few originals. Think Chuck Berry, Buddy Holly, Carl Perkins, Larry Williams, Little Richard, The Beach Boys, Rolling Stones, The Who, and course, The Beatles! You don't want to miss this special night, shared with Rockville Blues and special guests, it's gonna be a party y'all! Mark your calendars!

BIG NEWS!!!! On this 79th birthday of Keith Moon , we are happy to announce that we will be paying tribute to the drumming legend next year to celebrate his 80th! As many of you know, the inspiration behind the Foundation is my son Hudson, who has been drumming since he was a year old (no joke - he was given a kit by my drummer brother, an MMMF Board member). Despite all of Hudson's challenges in life, playing drums has been his saving grace. Discovering Keith Moon was like finding his spirit animal. Keith has been a huge influence and inspiration. When we first started the Foundation in 2012, Hudson was too young to play our tribute to The Who (for helping us launch with a campaign video set to "Join Together"). Fast forward to him turning 18, he won the Keith Moon drumming challenge hosted by Drum Talk TV and is more than ready to take on drumming duties for the tribute! We now have the blessing and support of Keith's daughter, Mandy Moon, who will be joining us, and we couldn't be more thrilled! The tribute will serve as our annual benefit concert in the Fall of 2026 in Austin, TX. Stay tuned here for announcements as details unfold. In the meantime, please reach out if you would like to become a sponsor, volunteer, or partner! Email us at info@musicmovesmountains.org Cheers! xo Julie

Another big shoutout to Tommy's Drum Shop for referring us for a donation of a full drum kit from a local shredder! It's amazing the progress a new drummer can make when given the tools. This is a huge step, and we couldn't do it without community!

Huge thanks to a Norman family who donated boxes of records and to my parents for matching a gift of a portable record player, we were able to bring some music to stay at Grace Skilled Nursing & Therapy, Norman OK ! It can be very difficult for those who no longer have the comforts of their previous homes and are limited to the bounds of a building. Many elders or those dealing with mental or physical challenges deal with depression and can become withdrawn. Listening to an album from your life growing up or discovering a new artist can instantly take you away from any pain or sadness - or emotionally allow you to process feelings that need to come out. It also helps motivate social engagement and physical movement. Music is powerful! Let's keep it moving!

Just a note to anyone who is wanting to donate or help with recovery and healing in Central Texas after the massive floods: please be extremely careful when making donations. Unfortunately, there are always scammers trying to take advantage of good people trying to help. Always make sure a charity has a registered tax ID number (for example, our EIN is 45-5216562 and our profile is listed on GuideStar) and donate directly on their website or official link provided by them. A valid charity will never request donations via FB comments, messenger, etc. - be aware of QR codes that may take you to a completely different entity. And also validate online facts. There have been AI generated photos and videos claiming donations, etc. that just don't exist. Sad but true. There ARE some good samaritans that are managing donations on the ground right now personally, and if you know them, don't hesitate to help. We are waiting for word from anyone in need of any music resources and will share those as we get them. In the meantime, you can support our efforts specifically in response to the Central Texas floods here. Please make a note in the donation that you want it restricted for that. This will be a long process of recovery, rebuilding and healing - thank you for keeping our neighbors in your thoughts. xo

One of the main ways we raise funds for programs and services is through our annual benefit concerts. These concerts have also served as an inclusive platform to showcase artists we have supported alongside their mentors. So many magical moments have happened on the stage and luckily we captured most of it. Last year, MMMF Director Julie Frost curated and produced a Mixed Live Tape compilation CD featuring some highlights from 2012-2024. Collaborations and covers from some of Austin’s topnotch performers such as Tameca Jones, Adrian Quesada, Kevin McKinney, David Garza, Larry Seaman, and so many more can be heard only here! MMMF sponsored artists Devin Gutierrez, Chris Cebrian, The Beatle Boys, and early recordings of The Point and other Austin favs are featured. This first volume is a very limited run only available when donating to MMMF online or at local events. If you’d like to have a very special piece of musical history AND help make music therapy, education and outreach more accessible to those in need, donate $25 or more for your gift today!
