Proximity Doesn’t Equal Intimacy
God’s Call for Heart-to-Heart Connections in your Family
You can live with someone and not actually know them. You can share a home and still be strangers. You can speak words without ever looking each other in the eyes. You can hear without truly listening. You can take in someone’s words and still miss their heart entirely.
It’s possible to live a life filled with surface-level relationships where you exchange pleasantries and recap your day, but never really connect. Never go deeper. Never reach heart-to-heart.
You can live with someone for years and never see them. Never understand them. Never truly become one. Because proximity doesn’t equal intimacy.
The Lord is calling families to something deeper. A life marked by real connection where the devices are silenced and put away, and you actually look at one another. Where eye contact replaces screen time. Where the voices of your family echo in your heart more than the theme song of your favorite show.
He is calling us to a life where emotions are shared openly. Where everyone feels heard, seen, cherished, honored, loved. A life emptied of noise and distractions and filled with real connection. With presence. With depth.
