📚 Introducing the Baby Book Nook for Western New York’s littlest listeners!

Mona Bonanno, MD, at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital is on a mission to kickstart story time from day ONE. Newborns might not see much yet, but they can definitely hear, and nothing soothes them like the sound of their parents reading, talking or singing.

To support early literacy, Dr. Bonanno partnered with the Mother Baby nurses to create the Baby Book Nook, a mini library filled with board books donated by staff who once read them to their own children and grandchildren. Parents can borrow a book during their stay and read to their newborn.

For Dr. Bonanno, who raised her own four children in a book-loving home, the benefits are lifelong — stronger attention spans, richer vocabularies and deeper empathy.

Do you have new or gently used clothing items to donate?

Our 'Clothing Closet' at Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital provides items to patients leaving our facility. Your donations help them transition home with essentials.

Right now, some of our most-needed items include:
• Elastic waist pants (Men/Women)
• Blankets
• Long-sleeve shirts (Men/Women)

Donations can be placed in the collection barrel located in the Main Lobby.

A special thank you to the St. Vincent DePaul Society (pictured) for their recent donation! We’re so grateful for the new shirts and jogging pants we received.
