📢 Urgent Appeal from the Puyallup Food Bank! 📢

We Need Your Help!

We often see a summertime drop in canned-food donations, but this July left us CRITICALLY LOW! We are completely out of:
*Baked beans
*Peanut butter,
*Ravioli
*SpaghettiOs
*Canned meats
*Mac and cheese
**We only have ONE day's worth of canned veggies.

🚨 Over 1,100 Puyallup households, 53 food pantries, and 74,000 other Pierce County residents rely on us each month.

HOW YOU CAN HELP:
*Check your pantry
*Donate an extra can or case of food
*Organize a food drive with your church, sports club, or group.
*Give an extra summertime financial gift
*If you work at a food distribution center, see if they will donate BULK items to the Puyallup Food Bank.
*Already planning an event? Add food donations to the agenda. We can drop off and pickup donation bins.

Drop-off Hours:
Monday to Friday: 8 AM - 4 PM
Saturday: 8 AM - 11:30 AM
For large deliveries, please call or email in advance. Pickups from businesses and organizations can be arranged.

Bang Bang Shrimp Tacos
This is one of my favorite meals!! I could eat these at least once a week. 😋

RECIPE - Makes 7 tacos
INGREDIENTS:
35 raw shrimp
1 cup of Bang Bang sauce, divided (see below)
7 street tacos tortillas
2 cups Shrimp & Fish Tacos Coleslaw (👇🏼)
Cajun seasoning to taste

DIRECTIONS:
1. Marinate the shrimp with 1/2 cup of bang bang sauce for at least 30 minutes.
2. Prepare the coleslaw while the shrimp is marinating.
3. Drain excess marinade from shrimp and then pour them on an oiled, hot griddle or skillet.
4. Cook for a few minutes and then flip.
5. Put the tortillas on the griddle/skillet.
6. Season the shrimp with Cajun seasoning.
7. Flip the tortillas over and once they’re golden on both sides, place them in a taco stand.
8. Fill each one with 1/4 cup of the coleslaw, 5 shrimp and then drizzle on some bang bang sauce.

NUTRITION: 1 Taco | 0.7g net carbs | 6.6g total carbs | 5.5g fiber | 265 calories | 16g protein | 23g fat | 0.7g sugar | 0.3g sugar alcohol

🌟BANG BANG SAUCE
Mix together:
1 cup mayo
1/4 cup chili garlic sauce
2 tsp powdered monkfruit sweetener
1/2 tsp red pepper flakes

NUTRITION: 2 Tbsp | 0g net carbs | 0.3g total carbs | 0g fiber | 160 calories | 0g protein | 19g fat | 0g sugar | 0.3g sugar alcohol

MEXICAN COLESLAW:
Mix together:
1 bag of coleslaw mix (3.5 cups)
the juice of 1 lime (4 Tbsp)
1/2 cup cilantro, chopped
2 green onions, diced
1 jalapeño, diced
1 tsp salt

NUTRITION: 1/4 cup | 0.6g net carbs | 1g total carbs | 0.4g fiber | 4 calories | 0g protein | 0g fat | 0.6g sugar
