Please join us in warmly and officially welcoming Dr. Olajide Kolawole to the Lac La Biche Region!

Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Kolawole brings extensive experience in family medicine and high-risk obstetrics. He joins the team at the Associated Medical Clinic, where his expertise and compassionate care are already making a positive impact.

Dr. Kolawole is here with his wife—also a physician at the clinic—and their two boys, aged 8 and 10. Since arriving in mid-2024, the family has found the region to be incredibly welcoming and supportive, and they’re settling in beautifully.

Outside the clinic, Dr. Kolawole enjoys soccer, tennis, and is developing a growing interest in golf—so if you spot a new face at the driving range, be sure to say hello!

The Lac La Biche Regional Attraction & Retention Society is proud to support the welcoming of new healthcare professionals and their families. Thank you, Dr. Kolawole, for choosing to live and practice in our community. đź’™

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Temidayo Daniel Owonibi to the Lac La Biche Region! 🩺🌍

Originally from Nigeria, Dr. Owonibi studied medicine at Obafemi Awolowo University, completed his postgraduate training in South Africa, and also earned a non-medical master’s degree from Stellenbosch University. He is passionate about Family Medicine, with a special interest in essential obstetric surgical skills.

Dr. Owonibi is joined in Lac La Biche by his wife Victoria, who will be starting the Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) program at Portage College this September, and their two children: Paula (10) and Daniel (6). The family is settling in beautifully and already feels at home in our welcoming community.

In his spare time, Dr. Owonibi enjoys watching soccer, playing piano, reading, traveling, and exploring new ideas. He’s also looking forward to experiencing fishing and camping in the great outdoors of the region.

💬 “I was provided warmth on arrival — literally and figuratively. I love the community already because of the close interpersonal bonds and the friendly people all around.”

🩵 “I am driven by the desire to see a better world.”

Please join us in giving a heartfelt Lac La Biche welcome to Dr. Owonibi and his family! 👨‍⚕️👩‍⚕️📚🌲⚽🎹

From left to right, Dr. Owonibi, Dr. Bukunmi, Dr. Nortje, Dr. Lindenberg, Dr. Sanjay and Dr. Apelehin. Missing from the photo are Dr. Anderson, Dr. Dehlen and Dr. Kolawole. We will be sharing individual photos and profiles of each physician in the coming weeks so you cann get to know them and look forward to introducing you to several more new physicians soon. To our newer physicians, welcome and thank you for choosing Lac La Biche County for your home and practice.

Sadly, Dr. Nortje and Dr. Lindenberg are leaving us and heading to BC — their future patients are very blessed to have these incredible Dr’s join their community. Thank you so much for everything you have done for many years in our community. We wish you the very best.

Wonderful news to share! 🎉
Thanks to our physicians at Associated Medical Clinic and AHS for initial interviews, Councillor Charlyn Moore and RARS Chair, Heather Stromquist, met a physician with obstetrics specialty recently to showcase our community and we were informed today that he has accepted a position in Lac La Biche. 🎉

The immigration process still needs to be finalized, then a 12-week assessment, followed by a 4-week obstetrics assessment, but we are so excited to welcome another physician and his family to our community, along with all of our other amazing, recent additions. 👏🏻 🤗

We have two additional physicians completing their 12-week assessments in a nearby community starting this month. We are hopeful they will join the great team at Associated Medical Clinic by September. 🤞 We also have another Dr who will join the clinic once she completes her 12-week assessment later this year, once the family moves here and settles in.

Thank you to the clinic physicians and staff, AHS, William J. Cadzow administration, Lac La Biche County and RARS volunteers for supporting physician and healthcare recruitment and retention in our community. Thank you to our Healthcare Heroes who superpower everyday! đź’™ đź’“
