Dr. Adeniran, our newest physician, and his family arrived in Lac La Biche today, and RARS introduced them to the Festival of Trees. Thank you to those of you who met and welcomed them, played basketball with the children, supervised the bouncy houses, supplied concessions with a big smile, and were generally “welcoming by nature”. The Bold Centre was buzzing with activity, and it was a fun-filled introduction to their new community. In the coming weeks, they will be settling in, and you just might meet them around town. Wouldn’t it be fun if they won one of the festival trees as a memory of their first day in Lac La Biche!

Thank you to community members who endeavoured to put together a lovely dinner for our new physicians and their families.
It was a good opportunity for them to meet the RARS volunteers and newly-elected councillors, Tony Marczak and Blair Norton, who have joined RARS and for family members to meet and socialize with one another.
The children were happily making gingerbread houses while the adults were meeting new friends and discovering community connections.
A photographer was on hand to take photos, and we look forward to sharing those on this page so that you can meet some of our newest health care professions and their families.

RARS is a group of community members who are working to attract and retain medical professionals in Lac La Biche.

Are you interested in volunteering to help welcome these professionals and their families? To help them settle into their new community? To share what it means to be "welcoming by nature"? Your participation is flexible; the only requirement is an open heart and big smile.

If this sounds like you, please drop in for our Annual General Meeting Monday, Dec. 15, from 6:00 to 7:30 at Portage College, waniska room.
