It’s heating up this week — don’t let dehydration sneak up on you! 🫧

When it’s hot, we lose more fluids (and electrolytes!) just going about our day. Of course, drink your water — but remember you can hydrate in other ways too:

🍉 Snack on water-rich fruits like watermelon, berries & oranges

🥒 Add cucumbers, celery & leafy greens to your meals

🧂 Replenish electrolytes if you’re sweating a lot — coconut water, a pinch of sea salt in your water, or an electrolyte drink can help (I would love to chat with you about the electrolyte drink we hqve been loving this year!)

Listen to your body — thirst, fatigue & headaches are signs you may be running low.

Stay cool & sip often

Ever heard of endocrine disruptors?
They’re sneaky chemicals that mess with our hormones — they can mimic or block hormones and throw things off balance. Over time, this can lead to weight gain, mood swings, fertility issues… no fun at all.

These chemicals hide in lots of everyday things — plastics, personal care products, household cleaners, and even some food packaging.

Over the last littlele while, I’ve swapped out a lot of our cleaners and personal care products for safer, non-toxic options. It’s made such a difference knowing we’re lowering our exposure to this stuff, and I’ve noticed positive changes to my skin and allergies.

Let’s talk about weight loss plateaus—because if you’ve ever tried to lose weight, you’ve probably hit one. For example, I have lost about 18 pounds recently, and have been sitting there for a couple of weeks now. It made me think of plateaus and why they happen and how to get the weight loss to start up again.

In the beginning, the weight seems to fall off, right? You’re in a groove, the scale is moving, and it feels like you’ve finally cracked the code. And then… nothing. You’re still showing up, still doing the work, but the scale isn’t budging. It’s frustrating.

But here’s the thing—this is totally normal. Plateaus happen because your body is adjusting. As you lose weight, your calorie needs can change, so what was a deficit might not be anymore. Sometimes it just means it’s time to reassess your food intake, movement, or even stress and sleep habits.

It doesn’t mean you’ve failed. It just means your body’s gotten more efficient. Keep going.

Use this time to:
• Focus on how your clothes feel
• Track your habits (are you really hitting your goals?)
• Maybe tweak your calories or add a little more movement
• And most importantly—don’t quit

Progress isn’t always a straight line. Just because the scale is quiet doesn’t mean your efforts aren’t working behind the scenes.

Not all calories come from burgers and fries – some creep into your day disguised as “harmless” add-ons. Here are 5 sneaky sources (and how to avoid them):

🥤 Flavored Coffee Creamers
☕ Just 2 tbsp can add 70+ calories and loads of sugar.
✅ Swap for unsweetened almond milk or a dash of cinnamon.

🥗 Salad Dressings
Your “healthy” salad can pack 300+ extra calories!

Let’s talk about something that doesn’t get nearly enough attention: how important weight-bearing exercise is for women as we get older. And no, this doesn’t mean you have to become a gym rat or start lifting heavy weights (unless you want to!).

Weight-bearing exercise is basically any movement where your body works against gravity—think walking, hiking, dancing, or strength training with weights or resistance bands. These kinds of activities are incredibly important because, as we age—especially after menopause—our bone density naturally starts to decline. But the good news is that weight-bearing exercise can actually help slow that process down and even build stronger bones.

It’s not just about bones, though. Moving your body in these ways also strengthens your muscles, helps with balance and coordination, and reduces the risk of falls and injuries. Plus, it just feels good. There’s something really empowering about building strength and noticing how your body supports you better over time.

And you don’t have to go all-in right away. A brisk walk a few times a week is a great place to start. Add in a bit of strength training when you’re ready, and you’ll start to notice the difference—not just in how you move, but how you feel.

You deserve to feel strong, steady, and confident in your body at every age. Movement is one of the best gifts you can give yourself.

Sound familiar?
You either go to the bathroom once or twice a week—dealing with bloating, gas, painful constipation, heartburn, indigestion, sluggishness, and brain fog—or you get hit with all of that plus diarrhea disrupting your whole day.

That used to be us.

We’d read the studies and knew how important gut health is. People often ask me whats the best exercise plan, and mu answer is always “The One You’ll Actually Stick To.”

Forget the perfect routine, the trendiest workout, or what your favorite fitness influencer is doing. The best exercise plan is the one you enjoy enough to keep doing.

You don’t need to train like an athlete if that’s not your lifestyle. Maybe it’s walking daily, dancing in your living room, or doing 15-minute bodyweight workouts. Consistency beats intensity every time.

Movement should feel like a gift to your body—not a punishment.

Find what feels good. Keep showing up. That’s the real magic.

No matter how hard you grind in the gym, if your nutrition is off, results will be limited. Exercise is crucial for strength, endurance, and overall health — but it can’t undo poor food choices.

Here’s why:
• Calories add up fast. You can burn 500 calories in a tough workout — but one fast-food meal can wipe that out in minutes.
• Nutrition matters. Your body needs quality fuel to build muscle, recover, and perform. Junk food slows all that down.
• Hormones and health. A poor diet affects your metabolism, sleep, and energy levels, making workouts less effective.

Bottom line? Working out is only part of the equation. If you want real progress, focus on eating whole, nutrient-dense foods and staying consistent with both training and nutrition.
