Our mission is to empower people with disabilities and their families from diverse cultural and ethnic backgrounds by providing them with essential resources, services, and opportunities. We strive to help them become active and valued members of their communities and to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives. We achieve this through adult day habilitation, employment services, in-home support, residential services, advocacy, and family and youth services.

The Center Hope is heavily focused on legislative advocacy addressing disability funding and community support services. Today, Kelly Hutton, VP of Day Programs and Support Services, Cole Gawron, Director of Special Projects & Grants, and program member Shane Fortier attended the Arc’s Governmental Affairs Advocacy Day to raise awareness and meet with legislators directly. They advocated funding for DDS, MassHealth and Chapter 257 rates, plus discussing important bills such as Universal Changing Tables, Healthcare Standards and Turning 22 transition plans.

The Center of Hope Foundation, Inc. provides people with disabilities and their families the resources, services and opportunities to be contributing members of their communities, and to achieve the most fulfilling and meaningful lives possible.

What we do...

Assist individuals with severe disabilities to develop and acquire the services and resources, which will allow them to meet their goals for meaningful and productive living. Foster the acquisition of those skills necessary for obtaining and maintaining a viable standard of living. Facilitate the development of each person’s confidence and self-esteem crucial for one’s growth, development and independence.

The Center of Hope Foundation, Inc. offers five diverse Day Habilitation Programs located in Southbridge and Sturbridge, MA. The programs provide unique experiences that include skills trainings, community access, vocational placements and volunteer opportunities. Each program is structured to support the specific needs of the individuals served. Our person-centered philosophy enables each individual to develop their own unique schedule of programmatic and community activities. All Day Habilitation sites provide full-time nursing services. Each program has RN nursing coverage for daily and PRN medication administration, external feedings and basic or emergency first-aid. Collaboration with OT, PT and Speech Therapy Consultants as well as our Clinical Department ensures optimal wellness for each program member. The Admissions Department is readily available to provide tours and consultations for individuals, families, guardians and home care providers interested in our Day Program Model. The Center of Hope Foundation, Inc. is an approved MA and CT Department of Developmental Services provider. The Center of Hope Foundation, Inc. is continually growing and developing new programs that provide recreational, solialization and support services to all individuals with disabilities and their family members. Here is some of the family support services we provide:

Advocacy Efforts - Active self-advocate & legislative groups, promoting respect & dignity for people with disablities.

Recreational Dances or Fundraising Events - Monthly recreational activities are offered. The annual schedule can be found on our website.

HUD 811 Housing - Community housing funded through the HUD 811 Grant for individuals with disabilities.

ABI Waiver Program - The Mass Health Acquired Brain Injury Waiver Program is a closed referral program open to Central MA individuals.

Adult Recreational Program - Facilitates unified sporting activities such as Basketball, Football, Cheerleading, Softball, Track & Field, Soccer, Volleyball, Cycling, Power Lifting, and Fishing.

Children Services - Camp Hope and Vacation Fun Club offers children with developmental disablities a fun filled experience during school vacations.

Individual Community Supports - Provides support services to individuals living independently in the community with a variety of needed supports.

Emergency Relief Assistance - Providing assistance to families in distress.

Center of Hope Foundation, Inc. Employment Services provide vocational and employment skills training, direct job placement, on-the-job support services, and work evaluations to individuals with disabilities. Our small businesses operate as training opportunities and work experiences for program members. These businesses offer services directly to the local community and provide additional funding for programs.

Cans of Hope: Supplies collection boxes to local businesses and collects donated recyclables. www.thecenterofhope.org

Shred of Hope: Provides individuals/businesses shredding services of recyclable paper. On and off site shredding available. www.thecenterofhope.org

Move Out - Clean Out: Provides local property owners/residents with reliable trash and small furniture removal and cleaning services. www.thecenterofhope.org

The Festive Home: Handcrafted and one of a kind, ornamentally woven wreaths made from burlap and manila roping. The wreaths are durable and provide a yearlong backdrop for seasonal decor. www.festivehome.com
