🌸 Happy International Women’s Day 🌸

Today we celebrate the strength, leadership, and compassion of women everywhere — especially the incredible women who make up the heart of the ABA and neurodiversity support community.

Across clinics, schools, research labs, and community organizations, women are leading the way in behaviour analysis, advocacy, and family support. From clinicians and supervisors to researchers, educators, and caregivers, women continue to shape the future of ethical, compassionate care for children and families.

At Mount Etna Child & Family Services, we are proud to work alongside so many dedicated women who support, mentor, and empower one another while helping children grow, communicate, and thrive.

✨ Together we continue to build a field rooted in compassion, collaboration, and empowerment.

A Message to Our Families 🤍

In light of the recent news regarding an ABA therapist in Ontario, we want to take a moment to speak directly to our Mount Etna community.

When stories like this surface, they impact more than one clinic. They affect the trust families place in the entire field. We understand that these headlines can feel unsettling — especially when you are entrusting someone with your child.

At Mount Etna Child & Family Services, safety, dignity, and ethical care are not just policies — they are the foundation of everything we do.

We are regulated health professionals governed by professional standards, and we hold ourselves to the highest levels of clinical integrity, transparency, and accountability. Every interaction must prioritize child wellbeing.

We also believe trust is built through openness.

That is why we maintain a clear Open Door Policy. If you ever have a question, concern, or simply want clarification about your child’s programming, supervision, or progress — we want to hear from you. Concerns can be escalated internally and are taken seriously, and addressed promptly.

Our discharge criteria, ethical standards, and concern escalation procedures are clearly outlined on Page 13 of our Client & Caregiver Handbook, available:
• Online
• Or in print at any of our clinic locations

We believe in proactive transparency — not reactive reassurance.

Thank you for trusting us with your children. We do not take that responsibility lightly.

If you have any questions at all, our door is always open. 🤍

This week in Molten Meals, our young chefs took the lead in the kitchen by making their own pizzas from scratch! From preparing ingredients to building their creations step by step, the group practiced following instructions, problem-solving, and working together as a team.🧑‍🍳🍕🙌

Cooking creates meaningful opportunities to build independence, communication, and social skills in a fun and natural way. Watching everyone take pride in their pizzas and their hard work was the best part of the day!🍕🍴

We love seeing confidence grow as skills come to life through hands-on learning and collaboration in the kitchen.

Redirect Like a Pro 🧩✨

In ABA, we focus on telling kids what TO do instead of just what NOT to do.
“Stop yelling!” → “Use your indoor voice!”

Beats, teamwork, and big growth 🎵

Rhythm Rangers blends evidence-based ABA strategies with music and movement to create meaningful opportunities for connection. Through rhythm, turn-taking, imitation, and group collaboration, children build communication skills, strengthen regulation, and practice working alongside peers in a fun and engaging way.

Every beat becomes a chance to learn, connect, and grow together. đź’«

Behind every great ABA therapist is a first/then board, a timer, and a LOT of creativity!

We had some fun asking AI to capture what we do every day, and honestly… it understood the mission. Meet some of our team members at our Bowmanville location, cartoon style!🧩🧸
