Making my very first batch of yogurt!

Using yogurt recipes from “Super Gut” by Dr. William Davis to create more powerful probiotics. This book has been fascinating. He provides a ton of information AND a practical plan with specific instructions and resources to make the solution possible.
For example…
Specific strains of bacteria have been shown to have health benefits and promote healing. Most commercial probiotics don’t specify the strains used (i.e. Lactobacillus reuteri is not the same as Lactobacillus reuteri ATCC PTA 6475) and commercial yogurts don’t ferment long enough to produce enough bacteria to truly be beneficial. Think of the “riddle” - would you rather have a million dollars today or $.01 that doubles each day for the next 30 days? Well, just like that penny, bacteria double every hour. Commercial yogurts only ferment for 3-6 hours, vs. 36-40 hours. The true impact comes after about hour 25, so the homemade yogurts are FAR more powerful.
It’s a simple recipe and a relatively small investment in your health. I’m excited to try this and share with my clients!
