Today, June 4 2025, the CAMP NAVARRO GENERAL HOSPITAL (CNGH) – Mental Health and Behavioral Science Center successfully conducted a Mental Health First Aid lecture/training for Officers, Senior NCOs, Enlisted Personnel, and Civilian Human Resource (CHR) employees of WESMINCOM.
This activity, themed "Mental Health First Aid: Equipping Leaders and Frontliners for Early Response and Detection," aimed to provide participants with the necessary tools for identifying and appropriately referring individuals who may be experiencing mental health concerns. Emphasis was placed on referral pathways, not on diagnosing or treating mental health disorders.
This training forms part of a comprehensive Su***de and Violence Prevention Program designed for units and workplaces, focusing on early intervention rather than clinical management.
Colonel Montano Almodovar, Chief of Unified Command Staff (CUCS) of the Western Mindanao Command (WESMINCOM), delivered the closing remarks and expressed his appreciation for the successful conduct of the Mental Health First Aid lecture/training. He also formally awarded the resource speaker in recognition of their valuable contribution to the program.
Sincere thanks to Col. Charlotte Valdez PA (GSC), U1, and to the entire WESMINCOM leadership under the command of MGen Antonio Nafarrete, AFP, for their full support and commitment to the implementation of this vital mental health initiative.
This milestone was also made possible through the full support of our Commanding Officer, CNGH, and the OIC-MHBSC.
To God be the glory. 🙏
