Bassetlaw Hospice

Bassetlaw Hospice Bassetlaw Hospice, a newly independent hospice, providing palliative care and support for the Bassetlaw Community

Bassetlaw Hospice provides palliative care and support for the Bassetlaw Community. It exists to enable patients with progressive life limiting diseases and their carers to achieve the best quality of life. Each year the Charity needs to raise a minimum of £250,000. We only fund raise in Bassetlaw, so every penny counts. All the donations we receive help to continue the provision of specialist palliative care and support we provide for patients and their families at what is always a very difficult time in their lives.

This is Bonney, our CEO. Bonney is taking part in the Ben Nevis Challenge for Bassetlaw Hospice 💚

This is her story;

On 13th September, I’ll be taking on Ben Nevis, the highest mountain in the UK, alongside an incredible team of fundraisers all to raise vital funds for Bassetlaw Hospice at a pivotal moment in its history.

Bassetlaw Hospice is now newly independent, marking an exciting but challenging new chapter. Independence gives us the opportunity to shape our future, strengthen our services, and continue providing compassionate, specialist end of life care for local people and their families but it also means we must raise more of our own funding than ever before.

As CEO, I see every day the difference hospice care makes: the comfort, dignity, and support we provide at one of life’s most difficult times. This climb is my way of showing personal commitment to the hospice, the community we serve, and the colleagues and volunteers who make our work possible.

Ben Nevis is no small challenge, physically or mentally but it feels fitting. Like our hospice’s journey, it will take determination, teamwork, and resilience to reach the summit.

Every donation, no matter the size, will help ensure that people across Bassetlaw continue to receive the care they need, when they need it most.

Thank you so much for your support it truly means everything. 💚

What amazing support we receive from our community.
The customers of The Clumber Inn - Retford made a donation of £450 and landlord Tom has pledged to continue supporting the Hospice throughout the year. Members of Retford Swimming Club
held a raffle and raised an amazing £600, thank you and well done to all involved. Thank you to all the farmers who took part in yesterdays North Notts Spring Ploughing Match and generously donated £1,000. Out heartfelt thanks go to everyone for your support and fantastic donations we really do appreciate them.
