It’s crazy to think that 17 years ago I got married!! I was only 20 years old!!🤣 I was reeeallly young, but I’m so happy I married Jared! Life is so hard and navigating those ups and downs aren’t always easy. But every hard moment in life really made me fall in love with him even more. He’s patient, forgiving, and always sees the positive in EVERYTHING. He is my partner and puts up with my crazy, and my favorite part of the day is when he walks through the door!! Here is to forever! ❤️

Years ago I’d stay home if I was ever invited anywhere. I was exhausted dealing with raising a toddler with autism, figuring out how we were going to pay our mortgage after my husband and I both lost our jobs, and having the worst anxiety I’ve ever dealt with. Life comes in seasons, some good and some bad. But if you hang on, push through, and don’t give up, the good always comes. You become stronger and you are led to the path you are supposed to be on. I wish things were always easy, even now I feel I have my fair share of heavy burdens, but they get lighter the stronger I’ve gotten. It will happen to you as well , I promise! 💗

I NEVER did anything athletic as a kid…

I tried out for track in high school because everyone made it no matter what…and then I quit the next day 😂.

My daughter tried out for the swim team 3 times before making it! THREE! I would have quit. Our kids are going to fail, not make the team, get bad grades, miss out on a great opportunity. It’s life! I learned that lesson way later, and even though it’s hard to watch your kids struggle through the hard stuff, my gosh does it make them more resilient and strong.

I never thought I’d like sports but it’s growing on me, and I’m grateful for the lessons it’s taught myself and my kids. Even I’ve put 100k miles on my car driving to all the lessons, meets, practices, recitals, etc. I wouldn’t have it any other way.

They are so cute when they are sleeping. They sleep like babies. Each of them takes turns to come in my room during the night for either a snuggle, or to stand and stare at me in the dark, or turn on all the lights to use my bathroom. I love them to pieces but they also wake up at 6 am every morning so like...wtf.

Introducing Jules 💗

She’s tiny, cuddly, and loves Jared more than me so far. 😐 I’m on a mission to make her my little comfort kitty, and hopefully bring some comfort to Avi as well! We love her and fight over who gets to hold her, and Jared always wins 😂.

(P.S. We named her after character in Psych since that is the girls all time favorite show! )

We’ve failed as parents because we realized this week our kids have never visited a 😭. But it’s all good now, we are decent parents again. And now they are hooked.

This picture is an accurate representation of how close my kids have been to me during this whole pandemic. Minus me wearing make up and a pretty dress. It’s more like, let’s add grey hairs and a Costco wardrobe...it’s pretty accurate. They are SUCKING the life out of me 😂. But I wouldn’t have it any other way!

Team lemon pound cake or team lemon AND blueberry pound cake?
Still trying to nail down a lemon pound cake recipe because I like this TART. Is something wrong with my taste buds? Because I feel like I added LOTS of lemon, but it still wasn’t enough 🤪.

One thing that has become harder and harder for me since the pandemic has started is making meals for my family 😂. It sounds so stupid, but having my kids home all day, I feel like I’m CONSTANTLY in the kitchen.

I’m obsessed with making lunches like this. It’s the easiest thing to put together, and it’s so fun! I’ll switch it up with different fill ins too.

So if you’re in a meal making rut for yourself or your hungry kiddos, try a ‘charcuterie’ plate. 🤪

Cereal also works wonders! 😘

Someone said something to me the other day that saved me.

I was driving a few days back and felt like I couldn’t contain my emotions any further. I pulled into the parking lot of a store I visit frequently for baking materials and just cried in the front seat.

It all hit me. Having kids home all day, especially one that needs constant attention. Running a full time bakery, which has been the BIGGEST blessing, but also the hardest thing I’ve ever done. A husband gone working 2 jobs again. Plus feeling 100% isolated in an area I honestly hate living, and then just life in general. I felt like I could not do it anymore.

Later that night the sweetest lady came and picked up desserts and just told me how much she loved me. She stood at my door and just made me feel like I was seen. She told me things that I needed to hear so bad, and that I prayed someone would just tell me so I could just continue another day.

After she left I remember calling my husband and telling him how much it meant to me that this person had made me feel this way. I’ll never forget it.

So if someone hasn’t told you lately, you’re doing amazing. This freaking sucks. If some days the house is a disaster and your kids have only had cereal, you’re still the most amazing mother. If you watched Netflix all day to feel sanity, you’re still the most amazing person ever. Don’t let these sh*tty expectations of what life should be make you feel any less than.

And thank you to my dear friend who made a bigger impact on me than she could ever imagine. You know who you are 😘.
