Did you know that Black Women in America are 3 times more likely to die from pregnancy related complications than white women?

Well, April 11th to April 17th, 2023 is Black Maternal Health Week and if facts like that shock you this is the perfect time to educate yourself on the state of Black Maternal Health.

This event was started by the Black Mamas Matter Alliance in 2016 to raise awareness about Black Maternal Health, provide resources for and keep the conversation about Black Women, the birthing process here in America and its systems. This collective of Black Women hope to advance the care for Black Mamas every where by reframing the conversation on Black Maternal Health.

Prioritizing SELF(care) is one of our goals here at phnxSKN and protecting the womb is literally at the top of that list! Take a look at the information above, visits some of the awesome pages tagged for more in-depth information and share this with any mamas and mamas-to-be you may know!
