The road to our new mark on the world has not been easy. Our name is our face in the world and we wanted it to represent our mission and core beliefs, so after months of thought, research, meditation, and just sitting with the idea we have finally decided that we will now be called, The Universal Garden of Wellness. To give you an idea as to how deep this thought process went, we’d like to break d

own exactly what this name means for us and for those who visit our page and site. The Universal Garden is the ever present and all-encompassing fertile place where wellness exists. This means that all things that can make us well exist in all places, but more importantly they exist within us, within our choices lay the garden stones to health and wellness. We do not always need an external remedy for our health and well-being. This Universal Garden serves to remind us that within us are the fertile beginnings of wellness. The idea of the Garden is also a reminder that this earth provides us with all that we need to be well. Plants, animals, organisms, all these things serve as a means for us to obtain health and well-being. We must, however, remember that the garden needs tending and we cannot take from it without replenishing it. This replenishment is necessary for our internal garden and for the earth’s garden as well. The meaning of wellness according to Dictionary.com is, “the quality or state of being healthy in body and mind, especially as the result of deliberate effort”, this is very powerful because it reminds us once again of this universal and fertile power within us to be healthy in mind, body, and spirit. It means we control our well-being. Health, on the other hand, is the absence of disease or ailment, which means that one who is healthy is not necessarily well, but one who is well must be healthy (there is a slight contradiction to this in terms of individuals with incurable ailments which we will discuss further in another forum). Therefore, we can be free of disease and ailment but not at our optimum in wellness overall. The extent of our wellness depends on a slew of internal and external factors that relate to mind, body, spirit, and earth connectedness. Here at The Universal Garden of Wellness we will do our best to offer you as many seeds (resources) as possible to help guide you to wellness or just strengthen your mind, body, sprit, and earth connectedness. We hope you enjoy!
