I am retiring. My heart warrior passed away (at age 15) due to complications during her Fontan recovery a few months ago. And I just can't bring myself to keep drawing hearts.

Thank you for sharing your heart warriors' hopes and stories with me for all these years. Your kids are beautiful. Stay strong.

Hello. I just spent 20 minutes sitting in the sun in front of my house. (Have to get that vitamin-D in case I get Covid again.) I find I like looking at grass.

My heart baby (age 12) is scheduled to get the (Pfizer) covid vaccine tomorrow. I checked with her cardiologist and he supports her getting the vaccine.

I’ve had an accident—broke a few bones. Will be spending time in a physical therapy facility before I get to go home. So, I won’t be able to draw heart images for 4-5 months. Extra apologies to those who were already on my requests list.
Edit (9-12-18): my arm is better, but my leg is not. On top of everything my CPU died and it will be a few months before I can replace it. I had really hoped to be drawing again at this point, but life has other plans. See you in a few more months. 💜❤️💕

Today is the first day of Congenital Heart Defect (CHD) Awareness Week. (Feb 7th-14th). I think you're all pretty aware of my daughter's CHD. I've told so much of her story. I wanted to share something new. Everyone marvels at how brave heart babies are. It's true,....mostly. Mine is now 8 yrs old. A few days ago, I had to take the kids (except my heart baby, S) to the dentist. [ 356 more words ]

It's important to get the word out. Plus, I love hearts! I'm glad we get the heart holiday :) Be extra good to yourself this week - remember to do extra self care. Amazing stuff happening this year - more of the in-womb surgery, and the 3-d organ printing. More can be done - the "low hanging fruit" of CHD research is still out there waiting to be found.
