It was great to catch up with everyone during the Fall ASOPRS symposium. Thanks to all who came and participated in the YASOPRS case presentations at 7 AM both mornings. I heard some people say it was the best part of the meeting! Also, thanks to so many who came to the lunch lecture, we obviously didn't plan for such a big turnout. I hope you all found it helpful and if you have any other topics you'd like to discuss or would like to contact our speakers, Reza and Shannath, just let me know and we'll do it!

As you plan the trip to Chicago for ASOPRS in the next few weeks, please note on the syllabus that there is a YASOPRS lunch on November 8th. Please plan to attend to show your support for YASOPRS and to share in the wealth of knowledge and experience from 2 distinguished academic oculoplastic surgeons.

Dear YASOPRS,

The ASOPRS Foundation is very pleased to inform us of the establishment of the Bartley R. Frueh, MD Award for Best YASOPRS Presentations starting this year at our fall meeting. Dr. Frueh was President of ASOPRS in 1976, plus a career long active member. He was a suberb teacher. The Foundation Board has decided that donations in his name to the ASOPRS Foundation will be used to both stimulate YASOPRS interest in presenting at ASOPRS' meetings and to award excellence in topic and presentaion. One award will be presented for each YASOPRS session at this fall meeting: Thursday and Friday mornings. Included is a $500 monetary award for each recipient. Recipients will be announced during the Award presentation section of the meeting on friday.

In efforts to contribute to the communities we visit and meet in, Carrie Morris, Chris Zoumalan, and I are hoping to organize a community service project of some sort during our Spring Meeting in Tucson this May. This would probably occur one afternoon after the meeting sessions. We have been in contact with a number of potential area organizations who would really appreciate our help. In planning this event, we'd like to reach out to each of you to ask two questions.

1. Are you planning on attending the Spring ASOPRS meeting this May in Tucson?
2. Would you be interested and do you think you could commit to spending an afternoon on a project of this sort?

Please, please take a quick second to respond to this message so that we can most accurately determine the interest. If there isn't any, we may not spend our efforts in pursuing.

Thank you.
