The Fertile Flow A fertility health coaching service designed to provide expert advice on nutrition, stress managemen

There is an overwhelming body of information out there when it comes to the do’s and don’ts of fertility treatment and trying for a pregnancy. Fertility health coaching aims to demystify the misconceptions surrounding fertility and provide you with expert on-call support at what can potentially be a very challenging time. A holistic approach, examining ways in which you can improve your overall health as individuals is optimised in your sessions. Our goal is to help prepare yourself mentally and physically for the road ahead, so that you are giving yourself the best possible chance for success. With 17 years in nursing behind me, and a passion for fertility, I have seen how the journey to conceive and bring a baby into the world can be one of hope and smiles but also frustration and worry, leaving you drained both physically and emotionally. In fact, I know first hand having experienced medical issues during my son's pregnancy. I created The Fertile Flow to address these and integrate both the medical and holistic world so you can now benefit from the best of both, mind and body. Love this! How we so often judge ourselves for not being on point, there for everyone, All. The. Time! Saying yes to every request that comes though, trying to be the perfect person, never letting anyone down. It can be downright exhausting! It's time to fill up your cup and say no to those things that just don't serve you. People won't be as offended as you think, and if they are, well they aren't worth your precious time 💚

Let food be thy medicine and medicine be thy food~ Hippocrates
There is a vast array of dietary advice out there for those of you looking for specific foods to help increase your chances of conception. This can often leave you feeling confused and anxious about what you should be actually eating. Eating in a controlled manner is not that simple and what works for one may not work for another. Forcing a particular food down, if you really hate the taste, just because it's said to increase your chances isn't going to help matters. Eating should be a pleasant experience, not one that fills you with dread. There are plenty of foods and ways of eating that can help in increasing your chances of conceiving. The best, I believe, is eating a varied diet full of whole foods, a vast array of macro and micro nutrients, nothing processed and organic if possible. Eating organic isn't always possible and is typically more expensive, however a good alternative is choosing to eat seasonally and/or heading to your local farmers market where organic produce is often cheaper 💚

Over the years I've often been asked what my number 1 tip is on improving fertility health. My answer will always remain the same....unfortunately there isn't just one magic answer (if only it was that easy!) However there are a few things you can do to increase your chances and take control of you fertility health. Be kind to yourself, nourish your body, keep it moving, have tools in place to manage stress and keep an eye on that negative voice in your head through the process. All of these can increase your chances of conceiving along with maintaining a healthy body and mind 💚⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀ ⠀

Love this, and so true! Eating a well balanced varied diet full of whole foods should be part of our daily routine. Not only does eating this way make us feel great but egg and s***m quality are at their best. However, due to our busy lifestyles, the availability of ready made meals plus an increase in chemicals used in farming, the body can become overloaded with toxins. Ever feel as though you're drowning with information overload! We often turn to Dr Google for answers and are bombarded with information, most of it conflicting. Whilst the internet is an amazing tool to use in researching your fertility questions, it can also lead to further stress and confusion. I often advise my patients to stay clear or at least have an open mind and not to take everything they read as gospel. Remember, we are all individuals and what may work for one may not work for another. Speaking with your clinic, fertility health coach or another trusted clinician can help in easing your doubts and fears, providing you with the answers you need. 💚

Often life can become so hectic we forget how important self care is for our physical, mental and emotional health. How can you factor in some self care this weekend? A walk in nature, massage, yoga session or even just taking 10mins out of your day to sit in stillness. Not getting enough 😴 . Did you know that a lack of sleep can cause hormonal disruptions in women and men. Not to mention an increase in stress hormones! Having a night time routine can help. Here's a few tips to get you started:⠀⠀
1) Setting an hour before bed to wind down (all electronic devices switched off!) 2) Going to bed at the same time each night and waking up at the same time each day⠀⠀
3) Avoiding stimulants ⠀⠀
4) Having a relaxing bath⠀⠀
5) Relaxation exercises: meditation/deep breathing/mindfulness/slow yoga flow⠀⠀
6) Writing down any worries or stress from the day and putting them aside ⠀⠀
7) Keeping the room at a comfortable temperature ideally between 18 -22 degrees Celsius ⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
