Today at the DHCS SUD Integrated Care Conference, HealthRIGHT 360 led a session on Responding to Recurrence of Use: Practical Tools to Support Providers.

Recurrence of use is a common part of many recovery journeys, and how we respond can make all the difference. The session introduced field-tested tools and team-based strategies to help providers respond with compassion, maintain client engagement, and uphold trauma-informed, person-centered care.

Attendees explored practical resources including overdose risk assessments, overdose safety plans, and conversation guides that promote dignity, reduce shame, and strengthen continuity of care.

By equipping providers with actionable strategies and supporting staff well-being, we can better help clients navigate challenges in their recovery journey and ensure safer, more effective care.

Yesterday at the DHCS SUD Integrated Care Conference, HealthRIGHT 360 led an important session: Healing the Healers 2.0: Practical Skills to Support Staff Well-Being.

The session focused on supporting the people who support others – behavioral health professionals on the frontlines of substance use disorder care. Attendees explored trauma-informed strategies, practical tools, and team-based approaches to protect staff well-being while sustaining high-quality care for clients.

We shared actionable tools like team check-ins, trauma-informed debriefs, peer wellness rounds, and reflective supervision prompts, which are all designed to build stronger, healthier, and more resilient teams.

Supporting our workforce is essential to improving recovery outcomes and ensuring the long-term sustainability of behavioral health services.

Final day of the 19th annual DHCS SUD Integrated Care Conference in Long Beach!

We’re closing out three days of knowledge-sharing, partnership-building, and a renewed commitment to innovation and best practices in behavioral health.

Today’s sessions are action-oriented, featuring health vending machines, overdose safety planning, whole-person health approaches, maximizing opioid settlement funds, and more – including our own panel on responding to recurrence of use.

We are grateful for this incredible gathering of voices dedicated to healing, equity, and transformation. Together, we’re shaping a more just and effective behavioral health system across California!
