Hello all in Australia. At this point in time, Movement Squared will be reopening next month in Melbourne and Bendigo! Flights have been obtained, and looking forward to returning back after almost 8 years in Hong Kong.

Hoping you are all safe and well in these challenging times.

Due to the current global situation, it is now impossible for me to commute between Hong Kong and Melbourne. For this reason, I am reluctantly cancelling all appointments booked for April 2020.

As the end of this event is uncertain, I am closing my Melbourne appointment book until I can confidently return to usual practice. Once it is possible for me to resume work in Australia I will notify via this medium and also to patients directly.

As a side note – I would like to gratefully thank James who has enabled me to work continuously in the South Yarra area since 2005.

I love Osteopathy and l love treating all of you and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Happy New Year!

Trusting 2020 has gotten off to a positive start for you all.

Dr. Jordan Moncrieff takes on New Challenges

Sometime around 2010 Jordan came to see me as a patient on the recommendation of Mark McGrath – renowned Human Movement specialist. Jordan was a talented junior footballer hampered by ongoing lower body injuries. To keep it brief, Jordan was so inspired by Osteopathy, he withdrew from his Medical Bioscience studies and enrolled in the Osteopathy double degree at RMIT University in 2012 and became an Osteopath in 2016. Jordan did his 5th year placement with me and then we worked together as Osteopaths at Movement Squared, first in Windsor, then Prahran, from 2017 for 3 years.

In 2020 Jordan will be based in Queensland having signed a contract with the Broadbeach AFL Club (as player, but no doubt his Osteopathic skills will be sought after as well!)

From when I first met Jordan, he has transformed from a skinny kid with a sore leg, to a skilled, popular Osteopath, he has established Inside Out Training - a successful Personal Training Business and studied in the Czech Republic to become one of Australia’s highest credentialed DNS Practitioners.

Jordan will be continuing to visit Melbourne to treat and service his current patients each six weeks (not unlike myself!), but not from Movement Squared. Feel free to contact Jordan for his future schedule.

Finally, below is a photograph of Jordan, Mark and myself. This was taken on the last day of Jordan’s work at Movement Squared – I attended the regular DNS class he and Mark have been hosting for several years in Prahran. A shout out to Rick Ravensdale
from IronEdge who introduced Mark to me, who then introduced Jordan. Rick also attends these weekly classes.

This picture represents the full circle for me - our first meeting involved me taking care of Jordan. On his last day he was taking care of me. And the man who made this possible 10 years ago is the bridge between us. Isn’t that grand?

Being an Osteopath in Hong Kong has not been particularly easy! Outside of England, Australia and New Zealand - Osteopathy is bit of an unknown, mysterious dark art. Hence upon moving to Asia I returned to my roots part-time as a Physical Preparation coach to keep myself busy. This is Nate, one of my pupils

As you know, Jordan has been overseas for the last 3 months and is arriving back at Movement Squared Melbourne next month.

Jordan spent one week in the Czech Republic studying DNS at its' highest level. DNS is Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilisation, an exercise rehabilitation approach which Jordan uses in conjunction with Osteopathic manual techniques to help restore ideal posture & alignment.

DNS approach originated in Prague and Jordan was fortunate enough to learn from the best DNS practitioners in the world.

Jordan is now recognised as a fully qualified DNS practitioner.

Osteopathy and DNS appointments with Jordan are available from Monday 7th October and he is available Monday, Wednesday and some Saturdays.

Today is Jordan Moncrieff’s last day in clinic before he travels to Europe for the next 12 weeks. During this time he will be completing in Prague the advanced DNS instructor training module so when he returns to Australia he is a fully qualified DNS Practitioner. Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization is an movement practice increasingly used by the very best and most successful athletes in the world.
