Saturday, at Manos Amigas, about 20 children gathered to learn about how to take care of their teeth. Dental students Ada Pena and Katherine Alvarado host these sessions so children can learn the importance of taking care of their teeth, how to properly brush their teeth, and receive fluoride treatments. Each child left with a toothbrush, toothpaste, and a big smile.

As we all gathered around our Thanksgiving tables on Thursday, the Manos Amigas staff gathered to give thanks as well. They are grateful for our dedicated volunteers and generous donors. With Tuesday here, remember your donation helps purchase medical equipment, healthcare supplies, and medication to support operations at the Manos Amigas clinic. Additionally, some money we receive is used for scholarships for the professional development and advancement of the clinic staff and aspiring physicians and dentists. Thank you all for your ongoing support. https://www.servingatthecrossroads.org/takeaction/

We are so grateful for the outpouring of generosity Saturday night at our gala—Thank you to our sponsors CDTI, Lexington Builders, Oppenheimer, Riddle Village, and Strategic Insight; and the many, many guests who willingly donated to support our work in Honduras. We heard about building more room for hope at Manos Amigas, enabling us to expand services and provide healing to more people. Delmy, the Manos Amigas director, shared patient stories and the difference we are making in the lives of those in need. We recognized OR nurse, Jewel Campbell, with an Exceptional Service Award; and paid a special tribute to Dr. George Trajtenberg and his wife Adriana for their 12 years of service at Manos Amigas.

Such an amazing day—one team delivering care in many different ways. Blue Sky Surgical Team had four operating rooms humming all day. The OB/GYN team did Pap smears at Manos Amigas, provided training at the Maya Ch’orti Maternity Clinic, and even delivered a baby! The family medicine team headed to a remote village with Summit In Honduras to provide care for families living there. Great team, great day!
