Happy New Year to our friends and patients
i was reading medical literature and came across some information on the new Covid-19 vaccination.

i imagine many people are wanting the vaccine and or information.

you may still have to wait for the vaccine to be available. nothing moves as fast as we want and we all know the high risk patients and healthcare providers will be first.

i trust by spring things will have caught up.

here is a couple things people ask me and i will let you know what i know. everyone worries about reactions.

Anaphylaxis is different than a reaction. Anaphylaxis is a systemic response, almost 90% include hives.
Reactions are generically local skin irritation and/or a brief feeling of "under the weather".

the Covid-19 vaccine has a anaphylaxis frequency much higher than the "flu" vaccine but before you panic. there have been NO deaths. 20 cases out of 2 million vaccines.

Compare this to the influenza vaccine which is one death per 1 million vaccines.

balance all that with the fact that 2000 people are dying a DAY from Covid.

your primary care will generally help you make a decision.

if my explanation doesnt help you, when its time, plan ahead and make an appointment (please DONT call the nurses)🤭

Stay well...
