Playing with my piece titled "Enshrined" that is part of the Off-Center: Art that Pushes Boundaries national juried exhibition at the Northville Art House. Many thanks to my friend, JoAnne Ickes Muzzi, who showed up unexpectedly and took great pleasure in enjoying every single piece in this show. Grateful for her companionship and encouragement. Wish the participating artists could have heard her take delight in each of their works. Thanks again to Dean Rogers for jurying an incredible show. An honor to share my "off center" among these outstanding artists within this beautifully curated space. Worth the journey to see this wonderful collection of "off center" art.

Tree of Life. Made a lino cut of the tree you see in this monoprint. It was a journey trying different variations on the "Tree of Life" theme.

I have truly enjoyed following other artists on social media, and the inspiration I find in the work of others is invaluable. As I reach towards a milestone, I consider the time it takes to encourage those who have encouraged me. Thanks for the likes, follows, words of encouragement, and insight. Moving forward, I will continue to give support to those who have given it to me. Artists must support other artists. If you are an artist or an art enthusist (or if you are curious about the crazy creations I'm knee deep in creating) please follow me on Instagram. I will do my best to inspire you to create and enjoy the art of creation.

Excited to have my work Off Center National Juried Exhibition at the Northville Art House. Looking forward to the opening on Friday, October 10th from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. It's always fun to meet local artists and support this beautiful gallery space. The work always inspires me and moves me. I am never disappointed, and it's always an honor to participate.

When I shipped this work out to the Lexis Gallery, it looked like it had been lost in transit. For a few days, UPS didn't scan anything in about its whereabouts. The idea of losing this piece felt like losing a piece of myself. Based on a vision I once had, this piece has deep personal meaning. If it's going to go somewhere, it needs to go somewhere where it will be understood. I definitely can't have it getting lost in some storage house at some UPS facility. Made its journey to its final destination! Phew!

"From Where I Glean My Faith" will be included in the 9th Annual Trinity Art Show at the Lexis Gallery in Sacramento, California. The show will be on display in October of 2025.

Two words are hidden within this painting. Can you find them?

These words were taken from the cover of the notebook my mom used while doing her undergrad work at Dominican College in Orangeburg, NY. I would have been around three years old when she used it to help get her degree. The bright red cover of the notebook intrigues me. That flash of red on the cover of the notebook might be a memory, albeit a faint one. Deep within my mind, I remember the red: perhaps one of the first colors my brain filed away? Now, it calls to me.

Seasons pass. Sometimes, very fast. Before my summer journey is over, I need to take a few walks in nature and say goodbye to the hydrangeas. When the cold winds blow, I can paint what I remember of the warm sun, the beauty, and the flowers.

I named this assemblage piece "The Relic Keeper." It glows under red LED light. The glow highlights the crucifix, butterfly, feathers, and chains, casting shadows across the board. I find it interesting that some people see this piece as interesting and inspiring while others, see it as dark and even disturbing. I was not aiming for the latter. My process involved selecting objects that held deep meaning for me or which I found spiritually inspiring. Once I collected all my objects, I tried to find a way to get them to all work together on the same board. My process did not feel dark to me. It felt like light. Inside of me, I hold my journey. When I create, the journey finds tangible form. This is what leaked out of me in the process. What you see might be what leaks out of you? Or, perhaps we are both right? My journey being both light and dark makes perfect sense.

This 80th birthday cake for my aunt isn’t just dessert—it’s a celebration of love, creativity, and the joy of making something with your own hands. The lavender frosting, delicate butterflies, and hand-placed sprinkles all came together like brushstrokes on a canvas, each one carrying intention and care.

As artists—whether we work with paint, clay, words, or even cake—we’re always telling stories. This one speaks of a lifetime of beauty, family, and resilience, wrapped up in layers and shared with those who matter most.

Here’s to the creative journeys we all take, in art and in life—and to the sweet moments along the way that make them unforgettable. 💜
