The problem with drinking “only” one unhealthy drink a day is that’s 30 unhealthy drinks a month. Whether that’s 30 sodas, 30 diet sodas, 30 fancy coffee drinks, 30 sugar filled sweet teas, or 30 sparkling waters.

What would 30 of those look like? Lined up on on kitchen counter?

If you’re someone whose eyeliner and mascara is always melting all over your eyes, like what happened to me… it was so annoying. I would leave the house and it would look fine. Then an hour later, my eyeliner would start smudging. By the end of the day, I looked like this Barbie.

I have to admit… I love the convenience of fast and easy food, like bars. But the truth is, I’ve never liked the way they make me feel. Or the way they make my kids act. Crazy after. So I stopped buying them.

I decided to buy a box of these weird herbal food bars. I wasn’t sure if my girls would like them because you know… herbal bars. 😝. But I liked the ingredients list… lots of plants, herbs, and seeds in them. And none of the crappy ingredients that were in our strawberry bars. So I bought the oatmeal raisin flavor and hoped for the best…

I am a slow walker. But I never walk back.

We don’t need to stick to tough rules or overnight changes. We don’t need to rely on hardcore discipline that makes us hate our life. We need only to focus, on progress. Not perfection.

That goes for if we are trying to lose our first 10 pounds. Or are wanting our kids to eat more of the healthier stuff and less sugar and junk.

Little by little, a little becomes a lot.

Brewing a bottle of herbal tea and then chilling it and sipping on it all morning out of my mason jar is one of my favorite daily summertime rituals.

It keeps me from munching on snacks all morning and helps me to gently cleanse a little bit everyday. Plus I don’t feel like kaka like I did when I would drink 3 coffees all morning instead. 😜
