What an honor to host the Les Dames d'Escoffier Legacy Week winner at Dallas College this fall in the Culinary, Pastry, and Hospitality program to see my Principles of Healthy Cuisine class and the Nourish and Flourish presentation to the Culinary club.
An extra bonus was to also attend one of the Legacy week special events where dietitian Milette taught a Culinary Medicine class to medical students. I loved to see the continuation of projects I worked on as dietitian. Even more fun was to also step foot in the very room at UT Southwestern Medical Center that I spent hours in becoming a dietitian.

I always love the first bloom of the season! I remember my grandma digging these roots out of her landscaping in Nebraska so I could bring a piece of her beauty home. I had no idea how much joy I would get from this little gesture. Take time to appreciate nature and create a deeper connection that lasts beyond life ❤️.

Connecting with like minded people who build you up is important.

I love connecting with my eating disorder expert colleagues around important topics like the topic today, Body Image, Self-Compassion, and Intuitive Movement!

Great meeting! I enjoyed seeing so many new faces and at the same time, colleagues that were a part of building the chapter.

Staying current with research and therapies is important and I always love bonus therapeutic activities like guided relaxation!
I stayed present so only took a couple of sloppy photos. Here’s your reminder that body image is not about how you look!

Looking for a great way to start your Thanksgiving Day?

Here's a link (as a promoter, only because I signed up and am going), in case you want to join the fun. Lots of fun costumes, families, entertainment, dogs AND costumes, great memories, all while supporting programs and initiatives that help build strong, healthy, and connected communities.
This is an event I used to do years ago. I am super excited to share the experience of doing the event this year with my mother, daughter, AND a neighbor.

I've found over time that getting up and moving my muscles a bit in the mornings helps me with less back pain and stress, and a reason I work out in the mornings. While it is easy and sounds lovely to lounge in my comfies and prep food, this year the lounging and food will wait until later in the day.

Love visiting chefs in the area and trying their great creations.

I loved sitting at the sushi bar and learning about their food, employees, and businesses.

You know you have great food when you sit between 2 “regulars”.

And they have Santa Barbara sea urchin that just arrived, thank you for the great introduction to your creation.

Hands down the best sushi bar I’ve been to! Keep up the great work. I will be back.
