The practice of mindfulness has been shown to decrease the occurrence of negative thoughts, emphasizing positive thoughts and a more positive experience. Studies show practicing mindfulness mitigates burnout and overwhelm and promotes optimal health and wellness.
Mindfulness can be defined as viewing one’s experience from a compassionate and non-judgemental viewpoint, observing thoughts and emotions from a detached perspective, seeing these sensations as visitors passing through instead of emotionally attaching to one’s experience.
The concept of mindfulness originated from Buddhism but can be applied to any religion, practice, or discipline.
