Hello! I hope everyone is keeping well. We've been very quiet over the summer for a variety of boring reasons. But it's a new season (our favourite one) and wanted to check in. Is anyone else looking forward to walking through the crunchy autumn leaves? 😍🍁🍂
Much love

I just realised we didn't post any pics from our May walk. It was a glorious day and a lovely walk. It was just the two of us so we deviated from the plan a little 🌞

June walk is a little later in the day, but we hope to see you there 🏖🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️🌞Paula Hegarty

⁣A hurtful comment from a friend, a setback at work, an internet troll, or just an unpleasant day... there are so many ways we are challenged on a daily basis. It’s so tempting to just give in to the negativity and let it consume you.⁣

But here’s the thing – you have a choice. You can’t control what happens to you, but you can choose how to respond. It’s like being caught in a rainstorm. You can either stand there and get soaked, complaining about how unfair life is, or you can grab an umbrella and make a run for it, choosing to focus on getting to where you need to be.⁣

When pain comes knocking at your door, you can open wide and let it consume you, or you can greet it with grace and purpose, acknowledging its presence but refusing to let it define you and become a part of your identity. Like a skilled sailor navigating rough waters, you can chart your course by focusing on your destination rather than the turbulence around you.⁣

In the face of hatred and negativity, it’s tempting to fight fire with fire. But what if you chose to meet that darkness with the light of love and the firmness of healthy boundaries instead? It’s not about being a doormat; it’s about refusing to let others dictate your emotional state. By responding with love and compassion, while being protected by boundaries, you take away their power to bring you down.⁣

When fear whispers in your ear, telling you that you’re not enough or can’t handle what lies ahead, you can lean into faith and courage. Like a tiny seed pushing through the dirt to reach the sun, you can trust in your own resilience and ability to grow through adversity.⁣

Taking the high road is not always easy, especially when others seem determined to drag you down. But remember, by taking responsibility for your own energy and responses, you shape the reality you experience rather than allowing others to influence it.⁣

We're walking along the seafront tomorrow and we would love for you to join us. It's set to be a nice day (finally) so remember your water and sunscreen. See you there! 🌞

A rainy day in Aberdeen but we still had a nice walk and visit to the Winter Gardens. So many beauties to be seen.

The guilt that comes from setting boundaries and saying “no” is the resounding shame that occurs when we honour our needs but are unsure if we deserve to. Individuals with diminished self-esteem prioritize others, leading to a habitual pattern of people-pleasing. This behaviour becomes ingrained to such an extent that the wounded inner child perpetually chases approval by accommodating others in hopes of feeling loved and wanted.⁣

Ultimately, what the most fragile side of you needs is a spiritual reckoning. It needs you to stand up for yourself, even when it’s uncomfortable, even when you’re not convinced you deserve to choose yourself. It’s vital to your peace and happiness that you allocate your energy wisely, always attending to your inner spirit first.⁣

Yes, being considered reliable and people’s “go-to” person feels good. Yes, self-sacrificing can be oddly satisfying. But these martyr characteristics feed a fragile ego and weaken your higher self.⁣

Sustainable empowerment and generosity stem from a whole heart that gives because it has a surplus, not one that gives in hopes of being filled.⁣

The guilt and shame of putting yourself first will dwindle once you’ve embraced your worth. Think about it. How would you feel if you spent five hours cleaning someone else’s home and returning to your own only to find a pile of dishes, unfolded laundry, and dust on the tables? Sure, there are circumstances when others desperately need our aid, but for the perpetual people-pleaser, these self-deprecating habits leave you feeling empty, used, and resentful.⁣

How unfair you have been to yourself.⁣

If you truly want to serve the world, show others what it means to love yourself, prioritize your mental health, nurture your spiritual growth, feed your soul, embrace your downtime, confidently and lovingly set boundaries, and thrive because you’ve delegated your time and energy with wisdom. Then watch as the world around you transforms into a reflection of the boundless love and compassion you hold within.⁣
