Things have been pretty overwhelming lately, both personally and globally, and as part of a strategy to protect my mental health I took a little solo work trip to the bush.

It's been just what I need.

"Seventy-five generations ago, our ancestors set this program in motion," the second man said, "and in all that time we will be the first to hear the computer speak."

"We are the ones who will hear," said Phouchg, "the answer to the great question of Life...!"
"The Universe...!" said Loonquawl
"And Everything...!"

"Shhhh," said Loonquawl with a slight gesture, "I think Deep Thought is preparing to speak" ...

"Good morning," said Deep Thought at last.
"Er...Good morning O Deep Thought," said Loonquawl nervously, "do you have...er, that is..."
"An answer for you?" interrupted Deep Thought majestically, "Yes, I have."

"The two men shivered with expectancy. Their waiting had not been in vain.
"There really is one?" breathed Phouchg.
"There really is one," confirmed Deep Thought.
"To Everything? To the great question of Life, the Universe, and Everything?"
"Yes,"...
"Though I don't think," added Deep Thought, "that you're going to like it"
"Doesn't matter!" said Phouchg. "We must know it! Now!"...

"All right," said Deep Thought. "The Answer to the Great Question..."
"Yes...!"
"Of Life, the Universe, and Everything..." said Deep Thought.
"Yes...!"
"Is..." said Deep Thought, and paused.
"Yes...!"
"Is..."
"Yes...!!!...?"
"Forty-two," said Deep Thought, with infinite majesty and calm.

Hey Auckland pals - our lovely wee dog Tui went missing last night. She got scared off by a big dog when Erwin was walking her at about 830pm on Reihana St opposite the Grammar Tec rugby club in Orakei.

Breed: Boston Terrier Miniature Schnauzer
Age: 8
Colour : black and white

She's very friendly and good with kids, but also shy and can be quite skittish.

Please share this post widely, she may be hiding or stuck somewhere. We have lodged her as missing with the council and Erwin is putting her on the lost pet fb groups.

Reach out if you know of anything ❤️

Just a real joy and *pinch me* moment to get to be the guest speaker at the .nz graduation today.

9 years ago I graduated from this college and whew what a ride it's been ever since. So stoked to see what this next group of amazing humans will do in the world.

(Ps got to wear my favourite shoes as well which *just happened* to match this great dress that I wore, swipe thru for that lol)

A 40th birthday photo dump with (maybe ever again? Are we done with those yet??? I vote for real faces now and forever).

This weekend felt sloooow in a good way. The weather didn't cooperate so didn't get a surf in but still managed an ocean swim, some good hikes, a cute local market where I bought the best mug, infused with sand from a favourite beach.

Ate pizza, journaled, slept well, cuddled my family.

Maybe not a raucous party (that may still come, we'll see), but felt pretty happy and calm and loved. So a win in my books. Let's see what the next decade holds ❤️

4 years ago I was probably in the middle of labour, getting ready for a C section.

Today my darling Ivy Simone Boese is 4 and we capped the day off with park sushi a new sloth and a swim at the beach that is less than a km from our new house 😍

7. Ladies mantle again, because in olden days women would wash their faces with the dew on the leaves for the purported beauty and youth-giving properties

We are moving to Aotearoa New Zealand.

Like right now. I'm in the Vancouver Airport writing this while Erwin takes a Ivy to Duty Free lol.

First of all, if I haven't told you this personally I apologize, it's been a wild few months.

It's been such an incredible grounding experience being back in Sask for the last 3 years. They have been hard and complicated years but I'm so so happy to have gone through them with so many amazing family and friends nearby. Leaving is definitely bittersweet ❤️

I tell ya what, this intercontinental romance was a lot easier before we had a kiddo!

An exciting herb-ey job, the sea, and the in-laws are the reason for the relocation 🌱

I will miss you! And I'm excited for a new adventure with the other half of our dear friends and family.

Much love ❤️
