I think perhaps there is a belief that I don’t work as much anymore. But the truth is the exact opposite, I am as busy and passionate as I have ever been, and I am extremely lucky that the work I do I ensure I enjoy as much as the people I am working with.

The reasons I don’t generally promote on social media are
• I don’t want to
• I don’t need to
• I hate being the centre of attention and I much prefer showing off food and hills 😊

And I am still constantly learning. This weekend I was down In Nottingham at a wonderfully put together sports nutrition conference with some world renowned experts. Meaning the information provided was cutting edge, up to date and strongly scientifically backed.

It is and always has been important to me that people get the correct factual advice, not just what sounds trendy at that moment, and this will always be the case.

Oh, and the Vietnamese restaurant I went to was another level 😊

Great fun talking to the next generation of budding professional footballers with some nutritional and hydration tips.

I always tell the story of when I was a budding player at Rangers and my post training nutrition with my dad was a fish supper and a glass bottle of Irn Bru 😳

Great memories, but also thankfully nutrition advice has moved on a bit since then, and I am thrilled to be in a position to pass this on.
The difference it can make should not be underestimated.

3 years ago today I started my mountain leader qualification.

Nutrition and health was my world but I wanted to develop my career in a way that incorporated another life interest of mine.

The goal is never money, just about doing the things I love and am passionate about as much as I can in both my personal and business life, and do it with people important to me.

It has opened new doors for me with my primary nutrition business focus (ultra runners, trail runners, rock climbers) so I can’t ask for more.

Not a fake social media life, far from rosy, but positivity wins.

On our holidays, my gorgeous youngest laddie has been educating me wonderfully on what food is healthy and unhealthy, that we should be trying to eat lots of fruit and veggies as much as possible, and avoid junk food.

Which I wholeheartedly agree with.

I also wanted to add that in my opinion, healthy food could be food that makes you smile and happy.
It could also be food that is eaten with people you love or are important to you.

Yes, I agree that we should eat as much ‘healthy’ food as we can, but also make sure we are happy too 😊😊❤️

Soaked, burst, rainbows, eerie ridges.
Great time spent with my brother, we don’t catch up much due to commitments, so always essential to go for amazing food too. And on to meet my friends for even more adventures.

I have been visiting Milas cafe with my gang since they were wee boys.

We all have wonderful memories in there.

It has been our absolute go to for the best cakes around. Gigantic delicious chocolate and carrot cakes have been our staples.

Inside it looks like a diner from 30 years ago, very basic, no frills. Wonderful.

And today was their last day for business 🥲

I do not know them personally, we are just customers. But they have always been friendly and of course their food amazing.
So I wanted to say thank you to them. I am hopeful they realise the happiness and memories they have given myself and the boys.

Health is about so much more than just eating ‘healthy’ food. It is about enjoyment, time with people important to you.
And of course lovely scran ☺️

A genuinely lovely City, very cultural.

And so healthy too.
A wide variety of high quality coffee shops, the promotion of superfood fungi, and the cakes are filled with a healthy plant based substance 😂

Oh and the stroopwafels are divine 😋

I know honesty boxes are hardly new, but something about them just make me feel calm and content,
wherever I go around Scotland.

Thanks to my friend I was introduced to this wonderful wee honesty shed in Perthshire, full of wonderful farm produce, coffee, cakes and delights.

All local and the owners (who I have never met before) were friendly and welcoming.

Stick your co**a and other big chains, this is what it’s all about.

A very beautiful, but incredibly tough spring/winter walk in the Eastern Mamores.
Glad to be off in one piece. Can only keep learning.
Hands too sore to eat any sweeties 😭😭
