🤖 Trustworthy AI: Transforming Cancer Care in Asia-Pacific 🎗️

At the International Cancer Patient Coalition Asia-Pacific Summit, Prof. Karim Lekadir delivered powerful insights on the role of AI in revolutionizing cancer care—from early detection to personalized treatment. He highlighted that for AI to truly make an impact, it must be transparent, fair, explainable, and robust.

💡 A major takeaway was FUTURE-AI, a globally recognized framework (featured in The BMJ) that provides clear ethical guidelines for developing inclusive, patient-centered AI in healthcare. It emphasizes stakeholder engagement, data representativeness, and continuous monitoring to ensure safe and equitable AI adoption.

🚀 Of course, challenges remain—data accessibility, supportive policies, and industry collaboration are key to success. But through strong networks, education, and innovation, we can build AI solutions that truly benefit patients & healthcare professionals.

At the High-Level Political Summit at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences (SHUATS), one message was clear: Patients must be at the center of every decision in cancer care.

The “High-Level Political Conference: Equity in Action – Driving Progress in Cancer Care” will bring together political leaders, healthcare experts, and advocates from around the world to address one of the most pressing challenges of our time: the inequities in cancer care.

Hosted at Sam Higginbottom University of Agriculture, Technology And Sciences (SHUATS) in Prayagraj, India, this landmark event will focus on actionable solutions to bridge the gaps in cancer prevention, early detection, treatment, and care across the Asia-Pacific region. In partnership with the International Cancer Patient Coalition (ICPC), the summit will unite key stakeholders from various sectors to collaborate on global health policy and sustainable solutions.

🏛 Athens, February 6th, 2025 – Nicola di Flora represented ICPC at the 9th Annual ELLOK Conference, where key stakeholders gathered to move “From Planning to Implementation” in cancer care.

Timed with World Cancer Day, Nicola emphasized the 3Is—Innovation, Investment, and Incentives—as essential pillars for progress, drawing from Europe’s Beating Cancer Plan and the Align, Act, Accelerate strategy.

A key moment was meeting with the Greek Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, to discuss:
