So grateful to have Hanine from .yoga join us again, always such a calming and inspiring presence!

Hanine guided us through the five qualities of breath in meditation and reminded us that, just like plants, we can respond to our environment and give ourselves what we need using the breath.

We explored how we too depend on community for healthy growth, support and healing and how important it is to tend to our own needs just as we tend to our plants.

Thank you Hanine 🙏

We filled jam jars with different colours and explored which ones we were drawn to and why. We talked about how colour can carry feelings and symbolise phases of our lives. Feelings of happiness, of darkness and everything in between. We shared how visions of colour led us to make courageous decisions, choosing a different path. All this from some simple colourful jam jars!

This week we brought mirrors to the table and asked: “How do you feel when you look in the mirror?”

The answers were honest and moving from scars and broken pieces, to hope, balance, and eyes that are a window to the soul.

Together, we reflected on balance: how life carries both joy and pain, but neither has to define us. Even on our dark days, we can still find joy in the smallest of things.

Exploring the symbolism of keys through painting, participants expressed a wide range of emotions. Some painted keys as symbols of hope, freedom, and new beginnings, while others contrasted painful past experiences with visions of a brighter future. Some let the brush speak for them, trusting the group to help uncover meaning. Certain images stirred strong emotions, expressing the pain of present struggles. Keys meant different things to different people, a locked prison, an open door, feeling unsafe, or feeling safe. We also reflected on how, in village like communities, doors are often left unlocked, representing trust and openness. Around our table, we recognised that we too create our own village, a space of openness, connection, and support.

In our second session, we brought crystals to the table and reflected on how they are shaped by their environment. Unlike crystals, we have the ability to adapt, reshape, and move forward. It’s important to acknowledge and never underestimate how hard this can be. But together, with all our different experiences, creating a spectrum of colours and shapes, we are empowered and our paintings expressed this beautifully.

Welcome to the first session of our 10 week Paint Wellbeing course! Walking through that door takes courage, and we’re so glad you did.

It was wonderful to see you all connecting with each other and the feedback was heartwarming, sharing that you felt a sense of calm, a feeling of home, and appreciated having a space to be yourself. We can’t wait to continue this journey with you all.

What a wonderful day we had as we came to the end of our current 10 week programme. To mark the occasion, we gave everyone a little canvas and asked them to create a mini painting but not for themselves...for the person sitting next to them.

Watching each gift being exchanged was so moving, such a simple act of kindness, yet filled with so much thought, joy and love. There were tears, hugs, plenty of laughter, and of course some cakes bought in to share. It didn't feel like a sad ending but a new beginning.

Over the weeks this group has grown into a little community, friendships have been made, confidence has blossomed and the room has been filled with encouragement every single week. We are so proud of every person who took part and so grateful to have shared this journey with you all.

We painted ensĹŤ circles, one brushstroke, one breath, each circle different, just like us. Some bold, some soft, some open, some closed.

We also let ourselves free-flow with the brush, seeing where it took us… and in itself, this revealed even more.

The enso, a gentle reminder that imperfection has its own beauty, and that we’re enough just as we are.

A cake in the middle of the table was more than just a cake today, it was a reminder to notice the sometimes unnoticeable things, and what our celebrations really are.

Never underestimating the pain of our experiences, we asked: What do you celebrate? The answers spoke of both milestones and of everyday moments, of love, family, health, waking up, a smile, a sunny day, a hello, having enough, small victories, and just being here with our breath. The cake also stirred memories of happier times, of how it used to be. A father too was quietly remembered, celebrated and honoured 🙏 What do you celebrate?
