In addition to the recommendations from CDC, in my opinion, the best way to prevent catching the Coronavirus is to boost your immune system and reduce the number of assaults your immune system has to deal with.

The fewer toxins, bacteria or foreign substances your immune system has to deal with on a daily basis, the more ammunition it will have to combat the Coronavirus if exposures do occur.

I highly recommend you incorporate the following lifestyle and dietary suggestions to reduce the burden and stress on your immune system.

1. Your indoor air is often more polluted than the air outside. Open your windows for at least 30 minutes a day or leave a small crack to reduce indoor pollution. This will relieve your respiratory system having to work harder to filter indoor pollution.

2. Stay hydrated. Drink at least half of your body weight in ounces. Water carries toxins out of the body and drinking more of it could help prevent toxins from building up and having a negative impact on your immune system.

3. Don’t overeat. Overeating stresses your digestive system. Digestion requires a tremendous amount of resources which takes away from resources needed to support your immune system.

4. Reduce inflammatory foods such as vegetable oil, fried foods, ice cream, pasta, pastries, acid-forming foods, highly processed foods, and foods contain preservatives, artificial flavorings, and colorings. Your immune system has to work extra hard and spend resources to remove and deal with these chemicals that have no place in your body.

5. Eat as much organically grown produce as possible. Herbicides and pesticides spread on produce depletes and burdens your immune system and reduces its efficiency.

6. Get some sunshine every day. Georgetown University Medical Center researchers have found that sunlight, through a mechanism separate from vitamin D production, energizes T cells that play a central role in human immunity.

7. Eliminate refined carbs, alcohol, wheat, and corn because they are acid-forming, heavily sprayed with pesticides and suppress your immune system.
