Join us for our 2nd event of the year and first fundraiser to help fund our trip to Albuquerque, New Mexico as a group.

This June, some of us will be traveling to New Mexico. In Albuquerque we will be doing some of the following:
•studying the history of Curanderismo, and develop a deeper connection to the traditional medicines of Mexico
•We will be learning about limpias, empechos, sobadas and herbal remedies🌿
•Connect to our ancestral medicine to strengthen our individual practices and also share the knowledge we learn to empower others to facilitate their own healing
•In addition, we will connect with elders, teachers and a whole community of healers, which will broaden our network. This will allow us to bring curanderos and other healers here to share their knowledge and medicine

Hey everyone. For those of you that don’t know, I work with a medicine from the Amazon rainforest known as Acate/Sapo or most commonly in the US as Kambo. As I commit deeper to my work with Sapo, I will be posting about it more. Thank you to my mentors at CKPI: Jenn Jenson, Ximena Garcia and Kathleen House, my teacher Omar Gomez, who learned directly from the Matses people, and to the Matses for sharing their medicine and knowledge. Stay tuned if you would like more information on Sapo because I will be posting about this powerful medicine every Sunday.

So what is Kambo?
Kambo’ is the gelatinous secretion produced by the skin glands of the Phyllomedusa bicolor, the giant monkey tree frog, a bright green tree frog native to the Amazon regions of northern Brazil, eastern Peru, southeastern Colombia, and parts of Venezuela, Bolivia, and the Guianas.
The secretion is produced by the frog sensing a threat from any predator, or systemic stress. The secretion contains a large number of highly concentrated bioactive polypeptide. It has been used by the indigenous people of South America and is known as the “The Vaccine of the Rainforest”.

Experience reiki, a healing modality from Japan that promotes relaxation and healing in the body. Limpias, a mesoamerican/Mexican tradition that removes negative energies and brings harmony.
