FAI is a biomechanical abnormality of the hip that results in abnormal contact between the femur and acetabulum leading to pain, joint damage and possible later hip replacement. This community is for those hip pain sufferers who may have this ailment and can share their experience with diagnosis, surgery, recovery, results, success with surgeons, etc.. Health care professionals involved with this ailment are also welcome to participate and share their experience. All opinions should be read cautiously and confirmed with your own personal doctors. This ailment has only been diagnosed and treated recently, from perhaps 2003. More lately, famous athletes like Alex Rodriguez of the Yankees, and Tyson Gay, US Olympic sprinter, have had this surgery, recovered and had successful careers.
