Tears. Joy. Relief. Pride. Today, my brave, beautiful daughter Avery rang the bell.She ran through that ribbon with the strength of a warrior who has been through more than any child ever should… and came out victorious. Avery has officially beaten Burkitt’s Lymphoma. There are no words big enough to express what this moment means. To everyone who prayed, supported, and stood by us, thank you from the bottom of my heart. To Avery: your courage has changed me forever. You are my hero. We made it.

Look at that smile. Look at that hair!

There were days we weren’t sure what tomorrow would bring, when hospital rooms and chemo rounds became our normal. But through every tear, every prayer, and every moment of strength she didn’t even know she had—she kept fighting.

And now? That radiant smile says it all. Her laughter is louder, her light is brighter, and her beautiful hair has grown back stronger than ever.

Truly blessed doesn’t even begin to cover it. Grateful beyond words.

Today marked Avery’s one-year checkup, and we’re incredibly grateful that it only required a simple ultrasound and X-ray. The best news—there are still no signs of cancer, and her body is in excellent shape!

Over the past 15 months, Avery has faced more than most could imagine, yet she remains resilient, joyful, and full of love and life. Her strength and determination continue to inspire everyone around her.

We greatly appreciate all the love, support, and encouragement we’ve received along the way—the shared tears, the countless prayers, and the unwavering kindness from family, friends, and even strangers. Every message, hug, and kind word has meant the world to us.

The future is brighter than ever for Avery, and we have no doubt she will continue to thrive, chase her dreams, and embrace all the opportunities ahead with the same unstoppable spirit she’s shown throughout this journey.💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚💚

💚AVERY REMAINS CANCER FREE💚

Unofficial results from Avery’s oncologist shows no signs of cancer!

Labs, CT Scan and ultrasound all showed she is healthy and well!

Next scan will be in 90 days.

This extremely brave and loving girl turns the big 13 today!

Avery is doing so great and refuses to get knocked down 💪🏼. She’s happy as can be, takes advantage of the life, and never fails to make us laugh and smile.

Avery’s next checkup will be on October 24. She will again complete a CT scan, X-rays and labs.

So far, she is still in remission with no growing concerns.

Good morning friends, family, followers and supporters.

Avery is scheduled for her 6 month checkup today. She will undergo a Computed Tomography Thorax, Abd + Pelvis w IV Contrast (CT Scan). Results of the scan will be determined in about a week or two.

Please continue your prayers for her today wherever you are.

She has been full of happiness and is really enjoying her summer break so far. You won’t catch her complaining about much of anything these days! Her hair continues to grow and is coming back beautifully 😍. She has a beautiful soul and is never afraid to tell you how much she loves (especially our animals haha).

Official results of Avery’s CT Scan came back this morning and there are no findings of cancer!

She’s healthy, happy and full of love and life.

Update post CT scan:

Avery did very well today and is in good spirits.

Results have not been reviewed and will come at a later date in the next week or two 👎🏼.

Greetings everyone. Tomorrow, March 14, 2024 will be Avery’s first CT scan post chemotherapy. She begins the day at 7:45am at check in and will head to Lemmen-Holton Cancer Pavilion in Grand Rapids where she will begin preparing for a CT scan (Computed Tomography Thorax, Abd + Pelvis w IV Contrast). At approximately 10:45am, she will complete the CT scan. Around 12:00pm, her oncologist will review the results of the CT scan and discuss further appointments.

Undoubtedly, this is will be a very long and challenging day for Avery, both mentally and physically.

I sincerely ask each and every one of you to say a quick and meaningful prayer that Avery is still cancer free and continues to be cancer free.

I assure you I will post her results as soon as I am able to.

Positive Update:

Avery’s counts continue to recover. She has a scheduled surgery for Monday to have her port removed from her chest. We are hopeful her counts will have increased by Monday. If so, it will likely be an outpatient surgery and she will be able to attend school later in the week.

More updates to follow on Monday ☺️
