We at S.O.S. Senior Oral-Health Services were honored to join CenterWell Senior Primary Care for their fall Harvesting Health: Senior Expo in Asheville this week!

It was great connecting with the community, sharing how regular oral care can reduce health risks like pneumonia and heart disease, and meeting other amazing organizations supporting senior wellness. 💙🦷

🌿 Remembering Hurricane Helene 🌿

One year ago, our community was forever changed. Homes were damaged, lives were disrupted, and heartbreak was felt across Western North Carolina.

But out of the storm came something stronger — us, together. Neighbors showed up for neighbors. Volunteers cleared roads, cooked meals, raised funds, and gave their time, their tools, and their hearts. 💛

Today we remember the lives lost, the families still rebuilding, and the resilience that carried us through. Most of all, we honor the spirit of community that proves—when the storm passes, hope always rises.

Meet Angela! 🌟
She’s been part of the SOS team for over a year, and her compassion shines in everything she does. Angela is dedicated to making a difference in the physical and mental well-being of residents, helping them preserve their smiles and dignity.

Her motivation comes from personal experience—seeing the impact caregivers had on her grandfather with dementia. That drives her to always bring kindness, patience, and heart into her care. 💙

Outside of work, Angela loves spending time with her two teenagers, traveling, enjoying lake life, and getting lost in a good book. 📚✈️

We’re so grateful to have Angela on the SOS team!

That’s why at S.O.S. Senior Oral-Health Services, we provide weekly cleanings in long-term care communities to help reduce buildup, protect gums, and support whole-body wellness.

Last week, Patricia Poole, PN, RDH, MS, and volunteer advisor for S.O.S. Senior Oral-Health Services, spoke at the Buncombe County Dental Society and led a continuing education course:
“Oral Care Strategies for Every Stage: Supporting Patients with Dementia.”

Patricia shared practical strategies and highlighted products that clinicians can use to better support this vulnerable population.

Diana was also able to introduce S.O.S. Senior Oral-Health Services to the attending dentists, spotlighting how our team helps long-term care residents maintain healthier smiles and reduce risks through consistent weekly oral care.

We are so grateful for Patricia’s expertise and her generosity in serving as a volunteer advisor for SOS. Her leadership continues to inspire our mission of bringing preventative oral care to every stage of life. 🦷✨

🌟 Demo Day Highlights 🌟

Kelly and Ann did an amazing job presenting S.O.S. Senior Oral-Health Services at Venture Asheville’s Demo Day.

Once residents enter long-term care, up to 80% will never see a dentist again. Our goal is to provide minimally invasive, preventive weekly oral care to help every resident maintain health and dignity.

We’re moving into Phase 2: full facility contracts so all residents can benefit, creating a strategic model that supports facilities, families, and seniors alike.
